  • BD I think he will be like a big kid, going to the toilet just to put the seat back down lol..
Yes a total bargain, VERY pleased..
The house it came from was a posh big new-ish house, so I don't think it is that old.
I would Def recommend if people are building, renovating etc to look on the bay for stuff, not only for furiniture etc..

my next item I am looking for is an old style electric cooker. even though we will have the rayburn, I need a good old fashioned cooker too..

Well it was brass monkeys last night, and we have a hard frost this morning, its pretty, but flipping cold.. def going to dig out my thermals today for future frosts lol..

Starting to remove the loft insulation today.....:eek::eek:

.....but it will be back on Friday! :p:D

Think I have worked out a numbering system so that each bit will go back where it came from, but not sure I know how to keep it rolled up meanwhile. Brown packaging tape?

    Wouldn't string be better Dave?

Tape might shred the insulation when you pull it off depending on how sticky it is.

Yes, but I have a dispenser thing for box tape and I like using it.....:rotfl:

I'm not going to remove the tape afterwards, just cut it. I want to write the position code on it with a spirit marker. It's all great .....in theory......;) Personally, I'm not convinced the dispenser will work on a squashy surface.......

Anyway, I haven't gone in the loft yet. I've taken the van to the recycling centre and emptied it, so I can now fill it with rolls of insulation.

I returned just in time to shift 25 8x4 sheets of plasterboard, which had just been delivered. What a relief to get that on a sunny, still morning, and not in a wet, howling gale. :D

Ah, far be it from me to deny you then :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Lovely and sunny here still such a relief after yesterday. :D

Yes, far too nice to be in a loft....so I'm afraid I spent the latter part of the day in the polytunnel :o, making sure the vine weevils don't eat all the things in pots that they normally eat.

We didn't buy the sink. The store, H_ _ _ _ base, said that their member of staff had made an error of judgement, so it would not be £90, but £225, and some fittings might not be present.

I'm pleased to say my DW was quick enough to reply that we could get it on t'Internet at that price any time, and without uncertainty about the fittings. :p

Very practical, like the string I suggested. I think the problem is that neither elastic bands nor string will permit Dave the fun of playing with his tape dispenser :D:D:D

Having said that I bought one of those tape dispensers to make up boxes when we moved, and find the bloomin' thing most temperamental, but then perhaps I don't have Dave's touch with machinery :rotfl:

First ground frost of the winter this morning. Birds tucking into to fat balls, seed and bread which they were turning their beaks up at only a week ago.

Found and out of date small custard tart in the fridge - chickens tucked in with enthusiastic high pitched clucks of excitement :D

And sorted out an ebay purchase to both my satisfaction and that of the seller - nice to find someone who is reasonable and admits they made a mistake. I bought some programmable TRV's so I could zone the heating. They were listed as 'new - other' but when I got them it was clear they had been used (the pre-set date to 11 November 2014 was a bit of a give away amongst other things!). So now it's been sorted and I can hopefully reduce the boilers oil guzzling enthusiasm by only heating the bedrooms for a couple of hours morning and evening, but still have the heating on downstairs all day.

Well we shall see, as it's got to start today, but I'm not sure where I'd get elastic bands that big. The rolls will be about 2' thick, even compressed!

Baler twine perhaps, if all else fails, or even that posh nylon rope I bought for the hedging...

Builder is busy destroying shower room walls as I type. Yesterday, he stole our old bedroom window and inserted it in the kitchen, so we are almost 'normal' in there, with much improved light and view. Even made a temporary window sill out of one of the old barge boards. :rotfl:

DD2 is here. We found her 3m2 of floor space. :D

Decided it might be time to put the Aga on, so will phone relevant postman tonight. :)
