Well hope that the coughing bug goes soon Alfie & RAS & anyone else under the weather/duvet.

Grey & still here. Very mild. But half light with black clouds looming.

Free listing until Thurs so may do some, but have loads up all ready but things seem slow.

i have a rhodedendron out !! pink one just opening ?? it and i am confused by this weather.. temp is dropping daily so maybe forecast is on course :o i must admit the part of the real cold i enjoy is when im lugging hay out for the horses [no need yet]. it smells so lush and the hoss's get stuck in.... very satisfying :D they are all in the bottom 5 acres at the mo and happy. we have enough grazing for the winter its when/if we get snow that the hay goes out. the 2 sheep are so much more active, it was obviously the heat that was depleting thier activity... saying that they are still ancient so ..... sunny the cat is queen of mouse catching... i have old turkish rugs everywhere and its a minefield of camouflage for the "bodies"... luckily she doesnt eat them so no "parts" :o she is such a DIVA now..:rotfl: she swans around ruling the place and very vocal ! but she is a truly beautifull cat in soul. a very honest cat if that makes sense.. looks like im looking after ONE dog now. the lady wants to keep one at home or she would feel empty house .. friend will let him out during the day.. [they tend to scrap if left alone together and stress each other. brothers !!;) ] i think they wish they had just got one now ..
  • Alfie I have heard rumours, its going to get colder next week, and some are mentioning snow!!!

went to the auction that Rhiwie normally goes to, thought I might have seen him there, but he wasn't there..

OMG the prices!! I haven't been to a general auction in years, only ever go to farm auctions now, which have bric-a-brac and furniture etc.. flip the prices were high..

managed to get an old table top butter churn for the ranch... will purely be for decoration, bought an old travel trunk to sell on, and some other bits of small furniture which will also be sold on...

picking up the bathroom suite up tomorrow, so fingers crossed its all ok.lol

Fingers crossed for the bathroom suite, CTC

DD1 dragged me and DD2 on a walk. She dragged us up this hill scrambling on hands and knees, when we reached the top (with the aid of oxygen) found that the ruddy path went that way anyway. Just googled the walk and it says its four miles more like fourteen!

Been doing a little listing this evening. It's rained heavily & I had washing out so it'll be well rinsed then.

Had pork roast for dinna with carrots, parsnips, raost pots & broccoli...Yum Yum.

The temp here has gone mild again. I have all sorts in flower still. The fushias are magnificent - the big blousy one & two lupins have just started to get more flower spikes coming - odd or wot?

I don't have my hay yet Alfie - another must do this week. Just looking at my ole gals, some of the sheep. I'm only gonna put the hebs to the ram this year. I have far too many cross breeds & there's no point really in creating any more mouths to feed.

    Morning everyone.

Very wet here this morning poor chucks rather bedraggled, but not so distraught they couldn't chase and consume some spaghetti thrown into their run.

Thanks for the plumbing info Alfie - there is a gap under the black seal for the pipe from the utility into the soil pipe - the leak got quite bad - waste water from the washing machine all over the path by the back door and god knows what else. The chap who did our windows happened to be here doing some other work and he kindly put some sealant on for us as a temporary fix which seems to be holding.

Tiler came on Friday and started tiling in the utility, looking good. Doors for cupboards in utility to be done on Thursday. The list of 'things yet to be done' has vanished again - I think the chap who is doing the work is using them as fire-lighters!

We have now been here 51 weeks :eek::eek:

I think we'll get our first proper ground frost tonight, but there's nothing other than a drop to more normal temperatures showing for here.

Last night, I was wandering around Crediton in shirtsleeves at 7.30pm, so it must've been at least 14C, even at that time.

May have bought a posh sink at a knock-down price in one of the DIY sheds. They had it on a stand with a "Reduced" label, but when we enquired, the guy who was supposed to be doing the clearance stuff had cleared-off too. We've had two estimates of price, one which was very Ebay-like, so we left our number....;)

We've had the bill for the septic tank drainage work and it's less than I feared it might be. It's being shared two ways, which helps. :) While the other party did $od-all and I put in about 4 whole days work on it, they did arrange for the removal of all the surplus rock & soil, so it worked out fairly in the end.
