    hi all...

well after no sleep and 4hrs at the vets, dolly has 5 "mixtures"...
I decided to ring emergency vet as she was struggling after 2 hrs of hard labour[like ctc said this is the "be wary" zone] . had to rush her in and blow me she had the 1st one as we arrived [20 min hurl across forest !] ..
it was a whoppa and had been stuck, so urgent scans done and then injections to bring on the contractions. 4 more followed but it was touch and go after the 1st wether she needed a cesarian... she was exhausted poor gal... but 3 girls/2 boys.... 4 black/1 chocolate !!
I haven't slept since I got up at 5am YESTERDAY for heathrow run so im pooped but I think dolly is MORE pooped. now tucked up in her bed with babbies...
    I need a bath !!

CTC - know what you mean about things out of control weed wise. If you have knot weed that is a begger.

Alfie - goodness, what a drama & a cost. That's the thing with vets, but sometimes you just must go or get them out.

Did bits & pieces today, but outdoors very midgied. Not much to report.

Yesterday went over Loch Ness way for a run & a nice Sunday Carvery in Inverness - pigged out I did..................

It's the time of year, and for us down south, particularly bad, now that rain's come after a dry spell. The speed at which some weeds proliferate just now is scary.

But it's always the same and I'm learning not to panic. There will be catch-up time later.

I'll freely admit that without access to a few pro chemicals, I'd give this up. It's the same with power equipment, like mowers and brushcutters. It's not about making the place ultra-tidy and un-natural looking; it's time management and making the best of whatever physical ability one has.

Speaking of which, the ride-on's still broken and the brushcutter is on borrowed time.....but we have £600 in our plant sales account. :D

Not a lot happening here due to weather and visit from DD1. Sam (GS) is now very mobile and vocal, so I'm not always entirely lucid on here....:o

Had to laugh at my own ineptitude recently. Back in 2013, I ordered some new trees for the woodland we were to plant, but the 'Wild Service Tree' turned out to be a Rowan when it leafed-up. :(

As it was only £3.50, I didn't complain, but just ordered another W S Tree last winter. This is now leafing-up nicely........and the leaves are identical to another tree down at the Dog End!

I'd always wondered about that tree, which was a small lollipop- shaped thing when we arrived. I thought it was some kind of small acer and it would stay that way, but now it's really taking-off......60' eventually. Luckily, the wild cherry it is now pushing into isn't very healthy, but it will make good firewood. :)

Finished busting-up the wooden slats on conservatory floor, so took the chance to properly paint behind radiator. Found previous owners have put this right over a power socket :(. Will leave for now...

They'd also cut a hatch in the floor to allow them access to run plastic pipes to radiator, no insulation on these...total amateurs.

Anyhow, I'll likely get the vinyl fitter to leave a access to the hatch for now. I can glue down in the future.

Had a cloudburst last night, nothing broken - did enough staking - although some of the alliums look a bit sad.

My twisted willow seemed to be suffering from drought stress after 10 days of hot weather, a many of the tip leafs had shrivelled.
