Evening all
Not good news, still the same, so had the vet out today...to check her over, apart from 2 sore boobs where the piglets have been frantically trying to get the very little milk she is producing nothing else wrong... so gave her an anti b and pain killer injection to sort out the sore boobies. She did say it is very unlikely she will start producing milk properly. So will continue bottle feeding, but going to leave mammy pig in there for as long as we can, as a comfort to them.
Plus big girl has been walking strangely the last few days .so the vet checked her over too, looks like the her swollen leg, infection that we had the vet out for 6 weeks ago has left her with some sort of arthritis in her hip, which will slowly cause muscle wastage..:(:(
AND yep plumber didn't turn up again!! What is it with plumbers ????
So not a good day at the ranchWork to live= not live to work0 -
{{{{{{{{CTC}}}}}}}- Big hugs. Sorry it's been a rubbish day for you. You have a lot on just now.
Hope it's a better week coming.0 -
Oh dear, sorry to read of your woes CTC. Things have been much less frantic here since we paid off the plumber and electrician, but I'd guess your real worry is with the porkers. Hope it all works out and that you are not too exhausted being 'Mum' for a while.
A sudden change of plan today meant that after visiting a 32acre normally hard-to-get-into garden not far from here, I had to visit the Mendips too.:(
The garden was ...interesting. Based around ancient mythology, some of the reasoning behind it was certainly Greek to me, but there were some very pleasant parts, even if the overall concept and its execution left me a bit "Err...OK."

Fortunately, DW, back from a short family breakwith her folks, was in one of the few places where it's possible to get decent fish & chips on a Sunday, served in this case by our step-niece, so although it was a late slog up and down the M5, at least I feel nice and full.0 -
well ive had a good day....so far !!
not sure if I said but ive got,on my insurance, replacement carpets [lounge and extension] . but as dolly mixtures are due , ive postponed till august. [£1600 worth !!]
anyway I saw a sofa corner unit today [whilst mum furniture shopping] and fell in love !! [my corner unit is a bit worse for wear now !..]
this one was £2,200 reduced to £1,100... as mum had just bought various furniture the salesman told me the shop was due a refit in 3 weeks and if I wanted sofa it would be half that price if I took that one !!I bit his arm off ! also got the matching armchair for same deal ... so for £800 I got it all [ worth £2650] :j:j
delivered next week so will store it.
so will paint walls ready, carpet in and sofa etc and I will be all POSH !!

Scorchio with us still, and annoyingly humid before the thunder breaks. Having to use the portable air-con unit I brought up from the SE.
Air-con? In Scotland! :eek:0 -

Just pleasant here 'darn sarth,' so you guys must be having the sort of heatwave that was on when we were last in Scotland....and there were no midgies then, either! Yes, honestly!
First the good news: finished the roof. Now the bad news: I have to clean out all the attics and fix the various fan ducts, ready for the insulation chaps. It'll be warm up there!
Horse Woman hasn't returned from the East. There may be no cause to worry, but meanwhile, her place is disappearing in a sea of grass and weeds. She was not giving it much attention before she went away and now the inevitable's happened. I'll do her roadside today and I've already done some of her weeds, but fitting-in more than that would be silly now the ride-on's out of action for a while......I've had to abandon the woodland as it is, apart from a perimeter path.0 -
Glad you had a good time on Skye & things are looking good Lucielle.
Great you've finished the roof Dave, although still you can always find other jobs to do. It'll be hot up the attic, but a worthwhile job - could you do it at night when it's cooler - possibly.
Another belter of a day here, but not done much so far.
Any news Alfie?0 -
CTC sorry to hear about the animal issues, hopefully all will be well.
Alfie you are the best bargain finder I've ever known, what a superb deal. Well done!
Dave what fantastic progress to have the roof done. But I really do not envy you being up in the attic in this heat. Get your DW to pass up a constant supply of cold water!
Lucielle, the house looks incredible. Really beautiful. Is it currently available for holiday lets. It looks an idyllic spot.
I'm just waiting for the promised thunder and rain. I don't want to have to lug the sprinkler and hose out. It was due at 6 then 7...hmm.0
