Rummer, can't remember if you got any suggestions for waterproof coats?

Anyway, have you thought of trying something like this from Seasalt?

I've got a short Seasalt waterproof for the lottie, it's very windproof, but I haven't tested it in pouring rain yet! But I imagine it will be OK. They do several waterproof coats, worth having a look through them all. I've been very pleased with mine.

Good to hear a review, I have been recently admiring Seasalt clothes and I love their short fisherman's style jackets. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will have a flash sale or that their will be discount code for them soon. I found a 10% one however I am hopeful there will be a better one.

Didn't do any work yesterday, as we were involved with a community art project for much of the day. Last time, it was the millennium and large numbers of people were involved, but this time it was just a 15 year update, so I suppose we were lucky to get just over 50.

There were two paintings to be done on cloth, round the edge of which significant village milestones over the past 15 years will be written. I don't think my suggestions for the latter were received terribly well, (:rotfl::rotfl:) but the wind turbines might make it, despite some opposition.

My job was just the photography, so not too onerous, except trying not to shoot the top of people's heads, which was what happened a lot last time. I got almost everyone, but a few arrived late, apparently...:(

Apart from the above, Izzy has managed to bring in 2 more long-eared bats, and I've released the same, seemingly unharmed, but there's been no sighting of the owl.

Hmmmm.... that thing was a bit of a significant let-down. It was one of these:

    http://www.mowdirect.co.uk/brushcutters-strimmers-line-trimmers/wheeled-strimmers-trimmer-mowers/dr-wheeled-trimmer-mowers

I thought it would take a heavier line than my brushcutter (Honda 35cc) but in fact, even with a 190cc engine, it won't accept as heavy a gauge of line as the little Japanese fireball. :(

It's done about 6 hours work, and now the head thing has stopped spinning, so there's obviously a jam of grass inside somewhere, which I just don't have time to fix just now. It shouldn't happen anyway....

But then I remember it has one similarity with my huge 33" walk behind mower, which is pristine, because it's never worked properly for more than a few hours. Looks exactly like this:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOLENS-33-INCH-CUT-OPERATOR-PARTS-MANUAL-ON-CD-/321851112804?hash=item4aefd23d64

And what have they in common? Yes, they were both (badly) made in the great US of A.:p

Both will be on ebay in the spring. ;)

Been good weather here, but rained later on.

Doing listing on the bay, but nowt much selling.

Rummer if you see clothes you want, try ebay as you'll pick up something much cheaper & often new. I do that with jeans I like - save a fortune.

Like Froggie Island Alfie. We have millions of froggies this year = probably coz its so wet.

IHS - your garden is wonderful. I got some gorgeous Parrot Tulips, Creamy Hyacinths & Iris's really cheap from LIDLs. I usually plant up some pots & forget about them - make nice presents.

Got the water sorted but still haven't got the stove pipe sorted - we need a hand.

OH goes into hospital on Thursday so that will be a strange time. I don't know how I am going to get to Inverness to visit yet.

At least it's going ahead, and before winter too. Would be no good in January.

DW's doctor's request for action following the MRI went AWOL in the system somewhere, so it has had to be re-issued. It's not only plumbers who c0ck things up!

Similarly, my application via this site for loft insulation from British Gas was not received by them, so another fail. Like DW, I started the process of chasing this up, but I had more luck, with an appointment confirmed in October.

Trying to mix concrete for oil tank base today, but it looks like the weather isn't playing ball with this at present. :(

Must stop grumbling....life could be worse! On the bright side, hedges are cut and we are smart for autumn. :)
  • Morning all,

What a proper poo week for us, to cut long story very short.

Hubby not well, total stressed out, mental faique?? Lost loafs of weight due to the stress of everything, so, now I have got to sort everything myself at the moment.. So yep gave up job.. He is slowly getting better, he will not go to the dr's though..

My blood test said no change, so got to go back again in 3 months..

The liitle boglets will be going to market next week, but we have a little tinker amongst them who keeps breaking the fence and escaping .. And yesterday 2 of them were quite happily walking up the lane lol.. So more fence work planned for today, as it using more hooped nail things to secure the fencing to the poles..

Won a family ticket on Facebook for entry to the malvern show this weekend, so we are going.. Just to have a nice day out..

The rest of the windows being fitted in the next 2 weeks..

EBay is def crap at no, as normally within hours of listing things I either sell some items, or get best offesprs and bids. Really don't need that right now lol..

Yes, I'm pleased it's eventually happening as it is much overdue.

Hope Mrs Dave gets somewhere after her scan. Things are quite scary slow in the NHS these days.

Just had a payment cancelled via Paypal after I posted off the item to Germany days ago - spent most of the morning so far on the phone. Missed the post = walked down to the box to see post van overtaking me - I waved & they waved back....got soaked. Not a good day so far! But I did manage to nick a rose cutting from the house opp the post box - nasty lady house - so that was very satisfying! It's the little things that matter sometimes......
