  • Turned out the bulb-fair is next weekend! Just as well as the rain started by mid-morning today.

Decent haul from the local B&Q sale - large geranium, red-hot poker, canna and Japanese anemone all for £8. After this year's poor display from the cannas, I plan to dispose of those that show signs of virus.

Am now blanching and freezing courgette slices, not for me it's for the fish! The otocinclus catfish are gobbling up the algae, they'll soon need veggies.

well re the suggestions re the boat.... all of those things ...I think :o

it was a whim that im hoping I don't regret... it was cheap....ISH.. I will bung it out for sale and I am in the right area with a 2 marina's on the doorstep ?

anyway , had a fab trip up to see my "lion tamer" ;) all I can say is if you read of a burglar found scared to death in a certain garden I can understand it :D

my darling bimble totally deserted me on the thresh-hold knowing he would get the obligatory squeaky toy to munch on and cuddles ... if a dog could say "talk to the paw cos the face aint listening" then that's bimble !

I adore the lamps lir and oh created and think that the sheer wackiness would be a genious seller..:D

After such a report, my own adventures today seem a bit tame.....:o

However, I broke new ground, by going into some of the fields that lie to the south west of our place, to see what it looked like from up there. They'd just cut the corn, (not the maize - that comes later) so I figured I'd be causing no one any problems.

The answer, which I've come to expect, is that our house and land is barely visible at all, thanks to tree cover at this time of year.

We are more sheltered than it sometimes feels. Up on that hill, which is only 25m higher than us, it was blowing a gale. Down in the yard, half an hour later, it was relatively calm and warm. Odd, microclimates.
