Been using TomTom as an app on my iPhone for years, very good with live traffic to route around jams0

Chilly and damp here this morning. Mr BD is bleeding all the radiators for max heat
Gave the chickens some left over macaroni cheese this morning. Went down a treat!
No plumber here today :j:j:j
Still not sorted exactly what is to be done about the waste pipe in the utility, but I expressed my unhappiness with it going round the back corner of the house. Plumber now talking about running the pipe under the units.......Dave, I'll ask about a 'hole saw' - looked it up on You tube - nifty piece of kit.
Alfie, our sat nav is a cheap n cheerful generic one I won in an ebuyer competition. Does the job, mostly. I haven't updated the maps on it for years, so it is unaware of some new roads and at times we appear to be driving across fields.Plus it does get upset when we got 'off route' and tells us to 'turn around' in a hysterical voice. You can download different voices for your sat nav if you find the default one irritating. Have you got a smart phone? A friend of mine had a really good map app (which appeared to be just as good as a sat nav) on hers.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

ok anyone know anything about sat navs ? garmin ? or tom tom ? gotta get one but am confussed as to which ......:o
I've cracked the 'sat nag' joke before......:rotfl:
Still using Mercator's projection here....:D
I tend to shout at equipment which speaks, so DW probably thinks it's less stressful if we just get lost occasionally.
Plumber ought to own a hole saw - he's a plumber!
Chickens love any kind of pasta. Whether they consider the strands 'worms' is debatable, but it sure is funny watching them with spaghetti! :rotfl:
My mange-tout peas are flowering again on the compost heap, but I think the weather will put paid to that fairly soon.
Not much info on reciprocating saws used in the wild, so somewhat unsure about that now. Will look at some of the expensive Japanese saws, I think. :undecided0 -
morning all .... BETTER DAYS... make sure your "plummer" isnt thinking of doing a sharp turn at the bottom of the down pipe. L shape ! why? cos friend had that and the bend was always bunging up cos there was not enough slope to take water/waste quickly. there has to be a degree of slope away. it would take minutes to do what dave suggested. just feed pipes through the holes and connect. the only problem there is wether he is able/has the ability to get it through the wall ?? or is there already an exit hole ? actually it will be harder, if there isnt, to put one through at ground level [underneath unit !] .................. sun is shining here today and its warm
heavy dew on the grass tho. my darlin cat decided to swing on the curtains in the sun room and has brought down a 10ft curtain rail  [am i repeating myself ?:o] left it last night as couldnt face fixing it back up ... job for tonight. right off to work ..:( oh , ive booked in to do a vintage fair on the 16th. hope i feel better by then
cant shake this bluddy headache and aches.:( have a good day y'all

Hate the bliddie things. Being spoken to in that nagging voice drives me nuts........
I read the map, then drive to the location.
My best trip ever t'was t'other side of Pennines near Wales over the motorways on a dark drenching wet Friday night in rush hour traffic.
Set off and realised that my destructions were packed in my weekend bag in the boot.:rotfl:
Decided to drive as far as I could remember and then pull up when it was quieter. Came off at the motorway junction and drove as far as possible. Pulled up in a turnround and got out of the car to find the map.
Friend came running out of their house to tell me not to park there as it upset the neighbours! I drove to their driveway. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: RAS... i thought it was just me !! :rotfl: i am fine until the last 5 miles then "oldtimers" sets in

alfie - I am a back-packer anyway so used to reading maps. And I used to drive with a couple of passengers who struggled with map-reading.
Mum once advised me to turn right at the next dot! The dot was a town of 25K people. Her specialty was "Ohh, I think you should have turned left at the junction you just went passed."
The friend had me heading off the M6 up the off-ramp at very short notice. Onto the M62 towards Liverpool, when we wanted to go to Manchester.
It was just much easier to read the map and follow the signs. If I get stuck I just take the next left turn and find somewhere to park up.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
