Forgot to mention a couple of weeks ago we ate our first home grown goji berries. They are no nicer fresh than they are dried. Fir likes them though. There were three on our bush.
I better read what we are meant to do about pruning the thing, its a big unruly thing for three berries, maybe it would benefit from a chum?
If things are going to start being ready I might start to thing about a dehydrator. I might dislike goji berries but fir eats them in his muesli...drying ours would be perfect. ( should we get more than three) and apple rings.0 -

Volvo V70 with low profile tyres!
L
We once had a Volvo. It was after I saw Carol Klein had a 240 estate for her business (:o) so I found one that had been laid-up for about 5 years and had moss growing on it! Very low mileage. Very sad back-story too.
Anyway, we hated it. It did about 20 to the gallon, handled like a slug on stilettos, sounded like a VC10 and we slid around inside on the leather upholstery. Luckily, an enthusiast was only too delighted to take it off our hands for more than we paid for it....and we bought a Carlton estate instead, which was actually bigger inside and had none of the Volvo's vices.....:D Pity it stank of wet dog.....
I know, Volvos have come on a bit since 1983! :rotfl:0 -
my first car was a mini 1000. i put a blue stripe along the sides.... my GOFASTERSTRIPES...:D it had the obligatory piece of hardboard in the footwell
and i remember the seats being a bit uncertain when i braked hard...:D i also remember the back seat lifted out as one leaving a hole of sorts ... i discovered this when getting duty free on the boat from ireland

breakfast time visitors !
Oh no! Pheasant time again....I just don't feel like doing them ATM.
Was that why I heard the guns today?
I underestimated the squash. Still haven't picked them all, but it looks like we had about 70. There's always more hiding in there than you think! :rotfl:
Goji berries. Tried them. Think I'd rather eat rose hips.
Everyone had a Mimi when I was a teenager....well, everyone except me, it seemed...:( oh and Roger, who had a Hillman Imp. Roger only had his Imp 24hours though, because we went out in it and had a head-on in a lane with a Vauxhall Victor. I had to keep quiet about that.:silenced: The story was that he took it back....Next thing I knew, he had a Mini too.
The Mini I liked best was the van....but I won't go into why, in case there are nuns reading this. :A0 -
Good morning to everyone, including any nuns (this is an inclusive thread
). Love the pics Alfie
Girding myself up to do battle with the plumber - again - this time re the waste pipe for the sink in the utility. It was to go through the base units to the drain on the adjacent wall. But he told Mr BD yesterday that now the base units are in he can't do that and the pipe will have to go outside, round the corner at the back of the house. It will look like a dogs breakfast and is just asking to get knocked and damaged.
Well the plumber put the bloody base units in, after ripping all the old ones out - it is not as if he is retro fitting:mad::mad::mad:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

morning all,
a bit fresh this morning, and going to get colder by mid week according to the weather forecast
we had thunder and lightening too last night, even thought it wasn't mentioned on the weather, really heavy rain and wind again.
our youngest wants a mini, but the prices on them are silly money..
Alfie how are mum and Dad??
moved the trailer and small caravan up to the ranch yesterday.. and the van and car will go in the next few days... hubby said the old chicken run and sheds, and not worth trying to salvage, so will dismantle and use them for fire wood..
an end of an era..not worth the stress fighting it, and it served its purpose.. and prob given me the kick up the butt I needed to sort house1 out...
I have come to realise I cant cope with stress like I used to, and I have got to stop working myself up and being very vocal with things lol..Work to live= not live to work0
