I could feel it in my bones to have the day off today.
the numpties that own the factory/land phoned the council and said there were abandoned veichles on the public hightway..lol
the council guy knocked our door, and I told him there wernt abandoned, and they were infact on private land... the people who complained's land..
He wanted copies of the sorns, but I didn't have them, so he has taken the reg numbers, so even if they wernt sorn there are not on the public highway..
I then told him what has happened, and yes we will remove them but in our time.. and he said there is another council dpt they can complain to, but then they will just refer it back to him lol... and yes it is a court order they need to get us off the land...
by all accounts the council guy has had a run in with them on a diff matter, so knows what they are like...
so 'if; they keep saying it is a public highway much longer then I will just have to say he cant fence it then lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
Your story about the tree cutting reminds me of how some grumpy old woman hired Pete to take down some trees. He dropped them in the field and had almost finished logging them, when an angry farmer accosted him to ask why he'd cut his trees down!
:o:o
The woman had asked the farmer if she could have the trees, trimmed, and when he said, "Yes," the temptation to go 'a little bit further,' overtook her.
Pete's fee for the work went to the farmer, as did all the logs.:( Since then he's been a bit more careful about ascertaining ownership!0 -
Third decent day in a row, although we have had rain/drizzle after dark. Yesterday was positively balmly when the sun was out and the wind dropped.
Today I am in a north facing office, so it is a bit Brrr... Bright but chilly immedaitely outside and did not have time to go anywhere else.
Started with the plot tidy up, although I am not a scorched earth freak; a few annual weeds can be used as a mulch and dug in if they survive the frost.
Dave - those Bijou are anything but bijou. They got blown down in a September storm and I spent sometime yesterday cleaning haulms out of the netting before storing for winter.
Really could do with a day or two to get on the plot properly this week if possible.
It was still light at 4.45pm last night !If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I would get the vehicles SORN asap, CTC, to cover yourself.
Even if you just want to scrap them now, it might be difficult if "Computer says no."
We had half a day off today too, as friends invited us to lunch out, and then DW had an appt at the physio. By the time we returned, it was almost dark. Can't say it's that warm here, alfie!
DW has made good progress with her arm & shoulder problems, but I'm still weak on the right side.:o
Looking at the hedging I want to do next, it occurs to me that a reciprocating saw might be just what I need. I dare say the purists would flinch, but if it enables me to push on more quickly.....
This is the sort of thing I mean:

I'll check out a few sites like Arbtalk to see if they have discussed them.:)0 -
