also [as I did] carry a mini tape recorder for any "conversations"....
Very useful, those. I carry one when working up at the Dog End. I have hours of barking recorded, should I ever want my own 'virtual dogs.' :rotfl:
But Mr D's pooches have been very quiet for weeks, mainly because he's spending so much time at home. I don't know why that is. I did hear a single, ominous 'bang' from there yesterday, pm, which could have been a bolt gun......Maybe he's working from home again....;)
Dogs locked away, possible unmentionable things going on in the sheds....it's not very nice to contemplate, but it has been amazingly peaceful here.0 -

granma sheep is a walking advert for arthritis... but we will give her the summer for as long as possible. shes a sweetheart and we wont let her go longer than nescesary.0 -
trying to get rid of me ?:( :rotfl:
Lol, noooooo I just know if it was me, I would have packed my case within an hour of booking lol, well it would brought out, dusted down and open with me added things in there to take...
They will settle in over time that's it got to be realistic with With girl sheep.
Forgot to say got a load of eggs hatching out....Work to live= not live to work0 -
CTC,.... im terrible [according to family and friends] I pack a few hours before I leave ....
:rotfl:
my friend packed last week !! im going to see her sunday to convince her [well try] that we are only going for 7 days...0 -
Lithops seeds (living stones) have begun germinating (unless it's weeds in the compost...)
That's the easy bit, there's a lot of contradictory advice on t'interwebs about growing and watering. If everything goes well, they will be the size of baked beans in a year...:think:0 -
Morning all,
Can't sleep, found out from eldest last night that factory owner came back yesterday afternoon, while he was sitting in his car outside the house ( de doesn't get a good signal on his phone so sites for hours outside in his car on his phone lol) took loads of pictures of the side of our house, our back garden and side gate, and the his fence by y our place, and then jumped in his car, and just watched my son, he then went to the supermarket carpark over looking our house, and done the same thing... So let's see what the start of next week brings...
It comes to something when over the last few months, I don't / cane be in this house or go outside when they factory owners and their workers are on site...
Sorry I know this isn't really the place to offload all this crap on...but the moral of all this, is that no area stays the same, things/sh!!!!te... Happens whether it be turbines, horrible new neighbours move in, new buildings being built by neighbours etc, so when buying a property always try to look ahead to see what potential changes could be made..
Right cuppa time with def chocolate biscwit overload lolWork to live= not live to work0 -

I expect the factory owner is now preparing a submission to the council, but it won't involve you specifically, whatever he shoots photos of. The council will be looking at the impact he's having on the whole area and whether it's reasonable to protect an empty space in the way he's doing. With no planning for something there, it's just creating an eyesore without purpose.
Things do change, and if we're realistic, sometimes it's us who are the agents of change which others don't like. Look at your piggies causing concern to your 'urban' neighbours, or me with my hedge laying, upsetting Mr Dog's 'private' view!
We can say that what we're doing is reasonable, and it is, but people are still upset.0 -
Sounds horrible CTC.
:(:( We had one lot of bad neighbours years ago, we moved in the end. I didn't feel safe there on my own.
I didn't sleep well either, but less upsetting reason - it was the cacophony of snoring from Old Dog, Mr BD's Uncle and Mr BD's Dad. I am a very light sleeper, and it is clear that the sound insulation in this house is not good
Mr BD's 5 relatives are going at lunch time, so just need to hang on 'till then.
IHS I nearly bought some Lithops to go with the succulent seeds I ordered earlier in the week - the yellow flowers look pretty. But as you say they are rather slow growing. Trouble is with things like that they tend to die slowly too if you get the conditions wrong, and it can be too late before you notice:oIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

fair point Davesnave, maybe this is Karma biting me in the bum then for what we have been through re- neighbours complaining about our pigs...the diff is, we didn't need planning for our pig runs, and made sure we were all legal and above board.. they are just doing what they want..
sun is out, but does feel a lot cooler ... I have 'bashed the biscwits' lol so one more cuppa and will get up the ranch to realease the piggles into the big run...Work to live= not live to work0
