Dave - What a nuisance re Tinky Winkys meds
Trouble is you can pay for express delivery but they still wont guarantee a delivery date. If you pay an arm and a leg for express delivery on Amazon the date is often 3 days hence. More often than not, free super saver is just as quick if the item is in stock. Good to hear she is still with us though, fingers crossed for Tinky Winky - sending her supportive clucks ;)

Had a very apologetic phone call from the insurance company (Fish) re the very poor breakdown service. An admission that the service was not what they would aim for and didn't meet their service levels. Assurances that it wouldn't end here and they would take up with their service providers. Was told that they aim to get someone out to a breakdown with an hour, so 2 hours for the recovery vehicle and three and a half hours for a mechanic is way beyond that.

Plus they have agreed to pay the £25 labour which we paid the garage to have the new battery fitted. So, I'm happy with that. So nice to speak to someone who isn't just a*se covering, but admits things have gone wrong, says they are going to investigate, and offers some recompense. Most refreshing - well done Fish. :)

If elections changed anything they'd make them illegal.

Part of the job was finding out what was wrong as the breakdown company didn't send a mechanic and neither Mr BD nor I had a clue why the car wouldn't start. The tow truck chap said he thought it was the alternator or starter motor so I don't know what was looked at first.

Started without a grumble this morning. :D

    Hows Tinky Winky Dave?

Sunny but chilly here this morning.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Well at least they don't waste so much money on them here as they do in the US. Still I do think we should do something about the HofL - over 800 of them I understand - ridiculous.

Gave my hens a poached egg to remind them about eggs....:o

This afternoon I'm going to retire to the shed and greenhouse to ground myself after all the political hot air whenever I turn on the radio or TV. Bah humbug to the lot of them :D

Meds arrived and were duly administered, but from what I can see, Tinky will always be a carrier, even if she survives. Not a huge problem, because the disease could probably only spread through water contamination, so we'd just need to keep her in a next-door pen.

But I don't think she will....:(

Now we have to check all the others. Trichomaniasis is picked-up from wild birds using the same drinkers as the hens.

    There's been an election?

I giggled at lunchtime when I realised who was reading all the Election news on Radio 4. He used to be one of mine, back in '74. I remember clearly that when we staged a class election then, he and two other lads threw themselves into it with great enthusiasm, producing a publicity campaign that swamped everybody in posters and literature.

Then, as now, they promised the earth, and much of their manifesto was totally undeliverable, but they won, which was all that mattered! :rotfl:
