:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Well I did wonder but I thought you might have chosen it as it is so bright and cheerful
Hope the knee is behaving Dave and you are not in too much pain CTC, chronic pain is no joke. It can really drag you down, affect energy levels and mood.
On Monday we had 'operation cluck'. Coop thoroughly cleaned out, plus drinkers and feeders. Mucky knickers cleaned where needed, plus ivermectin and poultry drops. Much outraged clucking. One got very wobbly and looked like she was going to keel over with stress, but the poultry drops did the trick and she soon perked up. Last ditch attempt to get them to lay again.
Fingers crossed for Tinky Winky Dave.
Old Dog's mobility is improving and she has regained strength in her back legs. She's been on Yumove and Vitamin B12 supplements for the past few days which seem to have helped a lot. Her eating still isn't back to normal and neither is her tummy. But considering how poorly she was she is doing very well indeed. Went out for a short walk with daft as a brush and Mr BD yesterday and enjoyed herself. Daft as a brush seems to have recovered well from his torn out claw. He did jump out of the window yesterday as the wind spooked him.
Weather has been very changeable. The wind is knocking all the blossom off the tree.
Cat lady down the road has given me some tomato plants including a black variety, anyone tried them?It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Lol, BD, no it wasn't our choice of paint colour :rotfl: I admit it is cheerful though
Really pleased to hear that Old Dog seems to be defying the oddsand I have to confess to laughing out loud at the thought of Daft as a Brush Lurcher jumping out of the window because of the wind :rotfl:
Operation Cluck reminds me that we really need to be thinking about getting ourselves some chickens.....we've been meaning to do this for soooo long now and as we're getting more settled and the weather is - hopefully - only going to get better, we should get our asses into gear and bite the bullet!
Haven't been around much today as it's our anniversary so we popped out for a spot of lunch at a country pub, then - despite the squally showers - stopped off at a garden centre on the way home as we needed a parasol base for our new garden furniture as we took delivery of the table this morning.
We had a bit of a nasty experience with buying online and as I'm the world's worst - or best- ditherer and bargain hunter, we ended up buying a set from a company I hadn't researched thoroughly beforehand. Long story short, it never turned up and we had to report to trading standards. DH had paid by debit rather than credit card so I thought we were well and truly shafted, then suddenly the refund appeared in his account :T
Anyhoo, we then did what DH had suggested originally which was to buy locally (ish) from a reputable company and buy decent quality
So we ordered a lovely set from Gloster, (four times the price, so not very MSE - but "you get what you pay for" as my grandad used to say) but of course there was a two week wait for the table.....but it came today, in time for our anniversary - shame the weather's too carp to sit out and enjoy it
But all's well that ends well:D:D
BD, I just remembered I was going to dig out the info for the people we got the wooden snail from at the plant fair. It was - https://www.orchard-furniture.co.uk - but I checked their site and it's all garden furniture, no smaller itemsI did have a quick peek on ebay, and there's a seller there with a hand carved wooden snail that looks similar - but think it's smaller than ours.....might be ok though
Dave, keeping everything crossed for Tinky Winky
Choille - think I might try your exercises, they sound just what I need x
CTC - thinking of you and hoping you're feeling less stressed/in pain xMortgage-free for fourteen years!

I guess my BP won't have fallen any....Electricians didn't show again today, despite a promise they'd be here.
The lack of electrical progress is one thing, but they are holding others up now. If they were any other trade, I'd tell them to go forth & multiply, but there's no way others would take their work on now and certify it. Hmmm, the second recommendation via the hairdresser which hasn't gone well....:(
Yes, I know, it's not me that goes to the hairdresser!0 -

I guess if you've been at the ivermectin you've had a visitation of crawly 'friends.' They do really drag a hen down.
I'm not a fan of supplements, as poultry-keeping using just essentials is expensive enough, but I do try to give the girls (and him!) a treat every day with something extra. Ours love greens, for example.:)
Tinky-Winky is hanging in there and if "express delivery" means tomorrow, who knows...?
Oh, and my knee....nothing today! It's fine again.:D No idea what happened, but it shows how vulnerable we can be.0 -
hi all...
VERY windy here today !! been 12-13d [where its sheltered !]
son told me that yesterday at work they had an accident in the fire engine.. going to a call, lights and horns going full blast, everyone was pulling over to the left until some prat decided to turn right to go into his drive with no warning  engine slammed on breaks but managed to hit car side on and shunt him...
driver said he was going home and didn't see/hear engine
then suddenly driver and passenger were "taken ill" so son and crew had to cut his car apart to get them out, police, ambulance etc... all cos he didn't use his mirrors !
sadly now the driver of engine has to undergo big enquirie ... luckily lots of witnesses... lucky too, no one on the engine were hurt ...
on a lighter note, had a hilarious half hour at work today .... boss had female visitor and I made a pot of tea and she whispered to me "count" ?? puzzled I went to leave the room and boss said "oh no, stay".... the visitor then proceeded to "name drop" in every sentence and I twigged what the COUNT meant ...:D I daren't look at my boss as I could see SHE was stifling laughter.. visitor then started to notice various items in room and started to "recognise" them and say "oh I see you have ***** , how lovely" I was by now choking back laughter.. as she was leaving she commented on a large lamp/shade in the hall... saying what taste my boss had and good taste in expensive antiques....
as she went out the door my boss whispered to me "best not tell her you got it for 3 quid at the tip then"
we fell in a heap as she drove off....:rotfl:
bearing in mind boss is a multi multi M and drives an old landie ....:rotfl:0 -
driver said he was going home and didn't see/hear engine
Pete has just left us a trailer to fill with rubble.:D He had a wander around his sheep and commented that those up here are in better condition than his flock down on the lush river meadow. I told him the secret is talking to them.
I think he knew I was joking.
Pete's promised me a bill for the fencing he did 18 months ago....possibly within 48hours. I won't be holding my breath! :rotfl:0 -
suddenly driver and passenger were "taken ill"

no, not in this case... the woman is seriously hurt.0 -
Alfie - Hope the woman recovers. The name dropper sounds a right pain in the nether regions.
I've had a reet job with a client of OH's. I just nearly lost the plot. Some folks will do owt to get out of paying. Thing is they have had a very small bill & they - we now have been told - hate paying. The games & bother they have put us to is unbelievable - Course I've just taken it out of OH as I feel he's not dealing with them as he should.
Some folks should carry a health warning!0 -
