No-just in as it's getting dark, but meant to watch it - maybe they'll repeat it? Sounds good.
The primroses are out as is the bracken............0 -
Phoebe you are busy, your house is very beautiful= chocolate box garden too.
Thank you ChoilleIt is lovely, but then I'm biased, lol! Only thing that's not so nice is the delightful primrose paint - surprised no-one mentioned that......guess you guys are all too polite! Can't wait to slap some F&B in a suitable period colour on there.....
Talking of primroses, our not very ladylike SWD has decided ours are vastly improved by the depositing of a large poo in the centre.....yuck :rotfl:
Managed to get loads more done in the garden yesterday, including another mowing of the various lawned areas, which are gradually starting to improve but will require re-turfing/re-seeding in some parts as the dogs have done their worst which - after two years of neglect - was the final straw......
Am feeling really burned out at the moment - think all these house renovations are having an effect - just want to sleep all the time. Still, I've got some more painting done in one of the reception rooms as it's been way too blustery and wet to spend more than a few minutes out of doors today, but am going to have a break for a while - kind of, lol, researching ideas for decorating schemes in my many reference books
Hope the knee is better today Dave

Err....it is at the moment, thanks, but this morning was almost as bad as yesterday and I struggled for the first couple of hours. Taking out a few wheelbarrows full of broken blocks seemed to do the trick.
I think it might be sciatic nerve-related, but I haven't a clue really. Like most men, I think if I ignore it, it'll go away!:D
With manic weather outside, the only thing we could do today was break through from the future Bedroom 1 into the garage, so that's what we did.:)
It's not quite the end of knocking things down, as we have to rebuild one wall between my Den and the en-suite, which is too dodgy to leave - I think the brickie's apprentice must've built it on a Friday afternoon!
In other news we have a sick hen.:( Unfortunately, it's Tinky-Winky, our Welsummer with gammy legs, who has valiantly fought-off all kinds of adversity in the past. This time I think its the big C, as she has growths in the mouth. However, she is still eating and drinking and showing no signs of nodding forward eyes-closed, which is when I normally act, rather than let them struggle on....
Like you, phoebe, I'm feeling a little burned-out, as there is still so much to do just maintaining the place, let alone plan and fit in time to labour, paint, or whatever. Then there's the plants....
At the weekend, a friend rang to ask if we wanted to borrow a rotovator. I almost exploded, but I declined politely...I hope!:A
As I said to DW afterwards, "What the hell do they think we want one of those for? Do they seriously think we'll be growing great swathes of vegetables this year?!"
But of course they don't understand, even when they visit and see how we're living; it just doesn't sink-in. :wall:0 -

so glad you went to docs CTC... did he/she give you anything to help destress you ? ....good thing is if anything else happens re the thugs bothering you, you have medical evidence that it has badly affected you and if push comes to shove... report them to the police for harassment..;)0 -
I told him I was taking ibruphen for the pain, so he gave s prescription for them and told me take them for a few days regular, not just when the pain is bad...I got an appointment for Monday for blood tests, and he asked if I had my own blood pressure monitor, do I could record my blood pressure twice a day.. So I bought one at the chemist for £14.99...
When he went through my records.. Over the years my blood pressure seems very irratic lol.. From very low at one time to normal, slightly high, very high ..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Another one who's also glad you made that appt, CTC. :T
Doctors now acknowledge how the mind & body interact, so they'll be unlikely to tell you "it's all in your head," these days.
The pains are real, and they know it.0 -

Watch the Ipubrophen CTC. Don't over dose - sometimes it's only one tablet - not two like aspirin.
You should try Mindfullness - very good for stress, but it takes practice.
Disgusting weather-wise so we went for the weekly shop & that got rid of the frightful day! Still hissing it down - terrible.0
