Lol OK thanks,
Just had a leafle through the door, it looks as though a company wants to put in for planning to put up 4 wind turbines on the mountain opp our house..
Think this is def the sign to get out of this house FAST!!!!!!
Before the official planning application goes in....
If they get passed it will ruin the landscape.. They have put them on theountaond up by fk. And they just look like bloooody aliens from Mars, awful
Sounds as though the market is picking up... Did you sell loafs of tom plants??Work to live= not live to work0 -
CTC there's been a planning application for a wind turbine rumbling on for years in our village. It'd be a dreadful shame if it was approved as the location is at the top of the hill as you come into the village, lovely view would be ruined. Felt really sorry for the poor b*ggers who bought a lovely property for nearly £400k which overlooks the field. Planning application was put in between exchange and completion.
A few miles away are some turbines on an industrial estate, much more sensible location.
We have l'eau de fox poo in our house atm courtesy of daft as a brush. He's been cleaned off and sprayed with tea tree dog coat spray, but it lingers.........It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

We did sell quite a few toms, thanks, CTC.
It was a bit embarrassing because we weren't the only ones with toms....and ours were larger. I'm not sure if the other person sold any.
Ah well, they had jam and eggs. We don't do jam or eggs at the market. :A
I swing both ways over wind turbines. I don't like them, but with the prices dairy farmers are getting for milk, they can make the difference between profit and loss. We have a few here, and mostly they're in scale with the surroundings. Both of the closest ones are related to dairy farms.
When they were being debated here, I couldn't help noticing that those who were the most vociferous against the local wind turbines were incomers on pensions, rather than locals, or people out at work all day.0 -
ctc.... I will ask him tomorrow re plastic, propagator and irrigation set..
took mum to see dad today but he was keen for us to bu**ar off so he could watch mr bean !:rotfl:
we have , for want of a better description , a tramp in our area here. he was more into the forest over winter at a lakeside. he is now in the village. hes a fantastic character, well spoken, articulate and very funny. [albeit the toffs here are not impressed..:p ]
he does all the litter picking wherever he is.. I occasionally drop off some grub to him [which he shares with the 2 resident swans] today he got a bag of 4 fresh mowisons sausage rolls
he is always clean and wears a terrific hat with pheasant feathers like a Hawaiian head-dress :rotfl:
he gave me 3 little wrapped chocolates at easter when I took him a "meal deal"....:)
sad that he is in that situation but he seems happier than most residents here
im about to mow one lawn ... oooooo and a tip, they have amazing big clematis in mowisons for £5... all types ! so I had to buy some !! gotta figure out where to put them now0 -
when I was in southern Holland there was a bay that had storm gates at the mouth to the sea. all around one side were wind turbines and I must admit it looked fantastic , bit like sea side windmills on sticks.
on this one occasion I was walking along the path following the bay when there was a storm.. it blacked over and lightening started. I watched as the rapid lightening forks were lighting up the turbine sillohettes ? it really was amazing ....until I realised it was all heading my way, following the line of the waters edge... needless to say I took off like a jack rabbit !!0 -
I did actually speak to the Police at XMas time when she came down her & did her stuff.
She is scary- avoid eye contact scary, but for some reason she's homed in on me, but I think she must have done similar to others - other women I think. I hear her husband spend a night down the beach as he was so scared she would kill him! It's such a small place but there's a lot of folks with 'issues' as they call them.0 -
Two lambs this morning so that is nice - a lovely day today & we have three swallows appeared - seems early.0

I often believe that when something happens that really makes you stop and smile [lambs and swallows] its the start of a good omen.
and it seems from your posts that things are coming together and you are smiling more...
apart from at looney tunes woman0 -
Yes, it was such an awful Winter - the worst even though it wasn't the coldest, just very wet & so windy. OH being ill hasn't been very good either so it is good to see the sun after it all. And the lambs of course.0

It's amazing that our experiences at opposite ends of such a small country can be so different.
Here, we keep remarking on how lucky we've been, considering the lack of insulation, the holes in the building and ceilings and the ever-shrinking number of radiators etc. It could have been a blimmin' nightmare, had we gone the way of 2009/10.
Mind you, it'll be great having a real heating system, as I'm sure you and lir know only too well!0
