  • Wet (and fairly windy) here most of the day, although there was a short burst of sunshine mid-afternoon, but too damp to do any work in the garden.

Instead I've been moving furniture and carpets - with a bit of assistance from Mr Phoebe ;) This involved taking one sofa from hallway (where there is a narrow staircase) out onto the verandah, along to the front door and up the other (wider) staircase, through the bathroom and study, up three steps and into the snug......then the same but reversed with another sofa :rotfl:

Oh, and I also removed a ghastly carpet from said hallway to reveal a bare concrete floor. This is in the A&C end of the house - no parquet here, although it's in the other d/s rooms and there is a huge quantity of the stuff outside in the *arches* so maybe removed from hall - where the plan is to lay old flags or similar which will look more period-appropriate than pink carpet :p

Feeling exhausted now, as there was lots of other *stuff* in the way that also required moving, so think I'll have the evening off and a large glass of vino with supper :D

Hope everyone is keeping safe and dry x

    I've been Money Tipped!
D and s rooms phoebe? How many of those rooms does one need!

Wet here, nothing happening.....very windy last night.

Really want to find wood for my ceiling now, really wide planks. Wondering if buying new and aging might be cheaper than trying to find old. Think I'll be able to get new really wide planks? It might be a compromise worth making to get it done now. I also need to get someone in to sand blast beams in two rooms any one know how much this is likely to cost? One that ceiling is done, the beams done and some plastering I want to get the carpet Alfie gave me down and start enjoying what we have so far.

Oh dear choille, it will be a bit windy through that windae!

Got caught in two very nasty hail storms on my visit to Mum's care home in Kinross today. Not pleasant at all. High wind signs on the Forth Bridge tonight coming home.
