i am getting hillarious messages re the caravan.. this is the start of one of them "
Love the add, the Mrs has said NO! So on that note, where are you based?. :rotfl::rotfl:......... ........... i told him where i was and this was his reply......"
    bu**ar..That's 200 miles away, I'm getting a dog instead.
A big one. All the best with the sale. :rotfl::rotfl:

    :rotfl: LOL :rotfl:

Choille - poor you {{{hugs}}} stay safe x

    LIR - sorry, d/s = downstairs ;):D

I'm sure you should be able to find long, wide planks for your ceilings.....I think when we were researching flooring for our Wilts house there were a few suppliers of new timber that came in long, reasonably wide lengths - not sure how wide though and maybe pretty expensive. Have never had beams sandblasted - won't it remove the character (and make a godawful mess)?!? Have you thought about poultice strippers? x

  • morning all,

kept my head down the last couple of days, as I don't think you need me windging on about things on here.

I have just been head down ar$$e up and working.. in today on my own, locked myself in and doing 'my stuff' so taking loads of pictures of stuff for the old fleabay...

need to get mega money in now..

Choille flipping heck.. hope you are ok, and you can block up the caravan window to tided you over, until you into the house..

our kitten cat ( who is now well over 2)
is having major problems ... she just keeps licking her coat away.. we flea them regular, but I am thinking now it might be the food, a few months ago I bought about 6 months worth of tinned food from lidl, when money was a bit flush... so I knew if things were a bit tight, at least my cats ( and the pigs we buy in bulk there too) Would be ok....

now I am thinking it might be down to the food.. she is a ginger and white, but mainly white.. so I bought fresh mince chicken last night.. and will feed the 3 cats fresh raw/cooked chicken for the next 14 days to see if it will make a diff.. will also have to give them some liver/hearts inbetween to make sure they get a right balance of minerals etc...

if it is the case, then I will find it hard to feed one separate, as there is constantly food down for them.

    hope everyone is ok,

Broken the glass - big hole in big winda..................

I know the feeling, after some big holes in the house. :(

Hope you can do a temporary fix....:)

Keeping my head down too, CTC. Just on a treadmill till Panto and plastering prep finishes, but I did sneak a couple of hours this morning, as it was so pleasant outside. :o

Plasterers are here now, so we might be looking at some almost-finished rooms soon. :D

Got some insulation board over the window & it looks ghastly but it will need to do & thankfully the plumber has arrived.

Talk about miserable - it's looking dire.

CTC, whenever my cats have had problems of that kind it has been down to flea alleries. Even if you do them regularly, even one bite can start them off if they are really sensitive :(

Now you have unearthed him, keep that plumber on site until you can move in, if possible?

He's concentrating on the Rayburn & running the water pipes - he's really good, just having serious personal issues at the mo - as is the case for everyone self employed really I suppose.

  • Not much achieved here today.....

Did a little in the garden - clearing more pathways, rounding up some stone slabs to create some steps down from the terrace - but despite being sunnier, the ground was too damp to dig/plant. Unfortunately the dogs are turning what's left of the lawns - after nearly two years of abandonment - into a mudbath :(

So moved more furniture around and got a bit of painting done in the master bedroom. Had hoped to have that finished by the end of this week and my vintage chunky curtain pole fitted.....maybe we'll find time for that tomoz (between antique fairs :D)......

Did get a huge surprise when our Hornbeam Ivy Steam Valve Original tap for the new kitchen turned up unexpectedly early.....suffice to say I'm *very* pleased with it :D:D:D

    Have a good/relaxing evening folks :)
