Daydream fund challenge part 4

Well I've been looking at vinyl flooring & cork flooring....so I must be bored & I insisted on opening my pressies, so that's all done & dusted - no point in getting up tomorra then.
We did our ( small) gifts on the solstice. The dogs slept in this morning but found in rates woke early and was wriggling with excitement at the thought of roast goose.
Lucielle, might it be worth you guys trying some geese? Do you think you'd get a market for them? but then its scary what the budget supermarkets charged for them this year, god only knows how those birds lived and what they ate.0 -
Happy Christmas daydreamers :beer:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

don't think you need to cook them for that long!!! lol
Ok LIR, what is it with the monkeys??? I haven't got a clue
Maggie, glad you arrived there ok.
Its all quiet on the western front, I am sitting here on the sofa, just me and the cats, everyone else is in bed.. thinking back to Christmas's past... it would have been paper and present everywhere, and loads of sweets would have been eaten by now too ...
This year, no decorations up, and just a few token presents.. ( socks, pants, smellies etc) and they still cost over what I could really afford.... and eldest has never been one for buying presents, but this year he said he hasn't bought anything for anyone this year... even though him and his bro don't get on, as long as he bought a pressie, but no... and every year his brother always buys him something..
maybe its a good thing, as now maybe this is the year, will be the year that will take the pressure off future Christmas's
LIR... agree with the supermarket prices of poultry for Christmas.. small turkeys in Asda were only £13... the size of the super roaster chickens you could get years ago...
I did feel quite sad shopping the other day.. a couple in their early to mid 30's buying gravy granules, and talking about how she wish she could make her own gravy !! sad really as it looks as though some people are just used to cooking out of packets..
There is a diff in buying for convience, and buying because you cant do it..
opps sorry long post...Work to live= not live to work0 -
:xmastree:Good morning and a Happy Christmas to all :santa2:
Church bells ringing here, and the bird's not burnt, so all's well in deepest Deb'n.

Having been around kids for upwards of 30 years, I think that they put much of the magic into Christmas. It was always a special time in the school year, even when we had SATs and a Scrooge of a Headteacher to deal with.
Not that there wasn't pressure, especially when we had a Christmas production. I well remember one teacher throwing baby Jesus across the stage in exasperation, when Mary forgot him again. We laughed about that for many a year! :rotfl:
It wasn't about the presents, or how much they cost, because there were none. It was just a happy time, when everyone tried to be pleasant and get along.....and mostly, they succeeded. :A0 -

For the first time in over 40 years we are not cooking Christmas lunch as we are popping over to DD1s.
Has been very low key so far, a family get together 10 days ago but just an artificial tree and no other decorations.
Have a merry and relaxed Christmas!0 -
Davesnave,
he didn't notice that the pj bottoms were last years pressie... we were all laughing our heads off, all he noticed was there was mr grumpy all over them lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
Hard frost here & the 1st day in weeks that we haven't woken to torrential rain, hail & thunder & lightening for weeks. Slept like a hibernating dormouse.
Wonderfully bright & sunny & the house looks golden in the light as the sun actually strikes it still unlike the caravan - that is tremendous & so important.
Off to neighbours later on with some pressies & a quiet day otherwise. Bliss.................
Hope everyone has a lovely day.0 -
Does that mean no more choille day after this year?0
-
Very full, so off to plant some bluebells......:D0
