Well done Jonesy88. It will indeed be a great phsycological boost for you.
Now, when you have an unexpected bill, you will have the cash in place to pay it without any hassles.

This is exactley what the challenge is all about.

  • Well done everyone, you're all doing so well:beer:. And October Starter, wow, that was quick! :A

Will try to spend a bit of time this weekend scouring my accounts and budgets (not to mention looking down the sofas:rotfl:) to find a bit more to add to my EF. It's been a while since I put anything in there but times have been a bit tough recently:o

  • Sincere congratulations to those of you who've already filled your £1000 'pot' in about 4 months of patman starting this brilliant challenge:A. Plus big congratulations to everyone who adds anything to their EF:T. It's not easy, is it? Winter time seems made for expensive emergencies:eek:

Have had a small Tilly Tidy and have transferred £30 to my EF, for now at least. Car going in for body work during the week, plus OH says one of my tyres is now borderline legal, so there won't be much left by next weekend. Still, without this challenge I'd have been really panicking how I was going to find the money for these two things.

Have £450 in EF so far(almost halfway there) and am amazed how it has grown. Mustn't get too carried away though, some of the payments were 'one-of windfalls.' When I joined the challenge I thought I'd end up adding about £5 a month. Even though it will be depleted pretty soon I'm determined to build it up again. I love the reassurance of knowing that this safety cushion is there.

    Thanks again, patman:beer:

    Struck it lucky last night.

Had to take my son to the local Walk In Centre and my neice asked if I could take her and her little girl as the little one was coming out in spots.

Both people needed prescriptions, so called in ASDA. As we were in there, my son wandered off to do some shopping and came back to tell me that they had just wheeled-out a whole rack of bread at 10p a loaf, so off I went to buy 2 loaves.
Went to pay at the self-service till and in the change hopper was around 70p, so treated my niece to a loaf as well and still came-out 40p up.

  • It's lovely when things like that happen. You were only there as a result of your kindness to your family members and you deserved some good luck, patman.

Lets hope there's some good luck for you on the job front soon:beer:
