Nice one Patman with the loaves.

Up to 42.00/1000 today slowly but surely. Concentrating on debt busting this month. Seems a long month so far.

  • Congratulations to everyone who is managing to add anything to their EF and commiserations to anyone who has had to dip into theirs:beer:. It's a brilliant challenge, I'm so glad I found it and joined.

Well, my EF has taken a big hit but not as badly as I thought it would. Managed to get a replacement door for my car from a local scrapyard but it was a different colour to my car plus had a few scrapes on it so needed respraying. OH found a really good little one-man business with low overheads who did a brilliant and cheap job. What with the labour, pulling out and filling some bad dents and gouges near the door, replacing the door, various other little bits of work, and respraying in various places it cost £170. OH treated me to the scrapyard door:rotfl: but it didn't cost much. I'm dead chuffed, it looks great now:j

At my last MOT I had a 'recommendation' to replace one of the tyres pretty soon. OH said it needed doing asap as it was by now borderline illegal. He said the other front one was pretty much on its last legs too (they were both fitted at the same time years ago) so I've just forked out for 2 new ones which cost £90 all in.

All in all a total of £260 so I've still got a bit left in the EF. Managed to pick up a really nice multifunction printer (plus a few spare inks) from some lovely people on Freecycle a couple of weeks ago so that was another expense I avoided as my very old one had completely died.

Now to rack my brains on how to build up the EF again ready for the next emergency:think:.

  • I agree, Calling14. Don't know what I'd have done without this challenge.

Patman has helped so many of us by setting it up. I'm so grateful to him. It should have been second nature to have an EF but I just never had anything spare to save:o. Somehow, through the encouragement and experiences of others on here I've managed to find all sorts of little ways to make sure I find money from somewhere. It's a lovely feeling to be able to cope with whatever life throws (within reason anyway) without that horrible feeling of panic:j
