    Don't think i'll ever get to £1000!

Good luck with the interview tomorrow :)

  • Hope you'll be feeling better very soon, CountingPennies:coffee:

You'll get there eventually with your EF target, these things just take time. What you had already saved was a useful financial cushion for you whilst you've been ill and that's what the EF is there for after all.

    Take care

If I can reach £1k, then this will give me around 1 month's salary (based on the fact that I have all my debts covered via a DMP with StepChange).

Bit of an administartional error re: job interview. It is next Wednesday.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

I'm not known for my ability to remember things (unlike MrsP). That hasn't stopped me holding jobs where information retention is critical. I just write things down that I need to remember on a notedpad.

I have set up a direct debit to pay £35 a month into my emergency fund account. The first one went into today. We have got a pay rise and trying to live by the principle of what you don't have you don't miss.

    Good idea, pozza:T

I've negotiated better tariffs for electricity and phone/broadband this year so am putting the difference between them and what I used to pay straight into my EF. Starts in March, hopefully. Won't be all that much but every little helps, as they say:)

Good one pozza. I have worked with people in the past who worked every hours overtme they could and based their life on that income. They then ended-up in the deep mire when overtime got pulled for 11 months.

They all whinged about it and blamed everyone barr themselves. When, in reality, if they had lived within the standard weekly wage and had saved the overtime in a different account, they would have been very well off indeed.
