How to get rid of Cats

If I could let more into my garden I would!
Please show me the post where the OP has admitted to poisoning cats or where he/she definetly intends to.0 -

Me too, Andy. Our two cats are indoor only, due to health problems, but I actually have cat mint in our garden and welcome all of the neighbourhood cats to visit. I enjoy making a fuss of them.
I do feel sorry for people who don't like cats coming into their gardens (it drives my own dad mad when they dig up his vegetable patch), but it is pretty much impossible to train a cat.
I would suggest that the OP tries to encourage their cat-owning neighbours to plant cat mint in their garden and maybe put down some bark chippings or other such cat-enticing materials to create a litter box area (our neighbours' cats certainly love it in our garden). The water pistol or automatic water sprayer deterrent ideas are humane and likely to work in a non-cat lover's garden.0 -
Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘Greenfingered’ board, where it is better suited.

if you have any more suggestions i would be glad to hear them ....
You could put those prickly things on top of your garden fence to keep your cat in, then your neighbours won't need to keep it out.0 -
Loving cats is an individual choice.
But I cannot stand cats coming and pooing in my garden everyday and people who suggest I should put up with it!! - what have I done to deserve it? Why should cat owners be treated differently.
I'm not planning to poison cats - end of story regarding that topic.

These are the things I meant.
I keep hearing that cats are "clean" because they bury their poo. Somebody please tell the cats round here! We got it on paths, plants and even on top of a low-growing conifer. Anyway, I don't want any nasty smelly surprises when I'm planting out.0 -

Probably foxes rather than cats because they poo everywhere.0 -

hon, if i had a fence all the way around my garden i would - if only to keep her from being poisoned/shot at with a water pistol.

Our garden has become the dumping ground for cats and my daughter believes there are at least 3 which come to do their business.
I have tried cat scarers(electronic ones), silhouettes of cats, pepper, chilli powder etc., Nothing has worked. I even planted lavender.
Any one has any clues how to prevent cats from littering the garden. I just wish i could poison them.
You are an awful person to say that!0 -
Are you sure that the cats that are causing you problems are not feral cats?
I only ask because feral cats are, quite rightly, classed as vermin and consequently there are a number of avenues available to you to help alleviate the problem.0
