Did not know where else to post!

Our garden has become the dumping ground for cats and my daughter believes there are at least 3 which come to do their business.

I have tried cat scarers(electronic ones), silhouettes of cats, pepper, chilli powder etc., Nothing has worked. I even planted lavender.

Any one has any clues how to prevent cats from littering the garden. I just wish i could poison them.

Water cannon (or at least water pistol!) and catch them in the act of just being in your garden - takes time and patience, but if it means that much to you you'll do it.

    Do not poison the animals.

  • If you poison the animals, I do hope you find a similar fate...that's unbelievably cruel.
  • A hand full of stones thrown at them as hard as you can should do the trick.

My neighbour has a Staffie, which I invited to wee in the garden. The cats pick up on the smell of this and have stayed away from that area. They still come in - loads of them, but the copious pooh dumps have diminished.

Prior to this I had tried an alternative method - just out of devilment and for my amusement...I flicked the droppings into a bucket and re-distributed at key locations where I thought the cats lived. It worked, most of the time, by throwing the cats senses of territory. I witnessed one bewildered cat (which is a Siamese nuisance named Skanky) as it went to and fro from re-distributed heap to re-distributed heap.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uIbkLjjlMV8 Or you could try the greenfingered moneysaving board, this problem pops up regularly. I use a jug of water or chuck something non-lethal and noisy like a cardboard box or empty tin can out of the recycling. They get the message eventually and then you just have to educate any new arrivals. Wouldn't it be nice if cat owners provided a dug-over area of their own gardens for their beloved moggies?

Thank you all for the helpful posts.
RE:Poisoning. It is not my intention but just a wish. Given that the owners are completely scot free and have no regard. If you are in my situation, I bet most of the cats would be dead by now. Everyday - the garden is full of poo.
Any idea, what the legislation is regarding stray cats?
Just out of curiosity - how many of you cat owners - make sure that your pet poo's in your garden?
