Thank you all for the helpful posts.
RE:Poisoning. It is not my intention but just a wish. Given that the owners are completely scot free and have no regard. If you are in my situation, I bet most of the cats would be dead by now. Everyday - the garden is full of poo.
Any idea, what the legislation is regarding stray cats?
Just out of curiosity - how many of you cat owners - make sure that your pet poo's in your garden?

Humans don't own cats. It's the other way round.

And even if it was possible to explain to a cat that he shouldn't poo next door then he would probably do it anyway out of contempt.

I was thinking the very same, but there are so many cat lovers here on Mse i'm not brave enough to admit that i don't like them.

there is no legislation as cats are treated the same as wild animals as they roam - ot is their nature.

how am i meant to do that - follow it around all day? only walk it on a lead?

my cat has an area in our garden to poop in but the chances are they do it all over the neighbourhood. thats what cats do, same as foxes and squirrels i expect.

trouble is although cats are pets, really they own you and aren't trainable like dogs

Nise,:T:T, a cat lover that agrees with post #14

But I'd like to ask, what is your reaction or feelings to the neighbour that has to put up with your vagrant !!!!!?
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Dislike them if you want. It's a free country and forum. :)

We have a 'cat' thread regularly on Greenfingered. There I've explained that I have to keep badgers and foxes out of my chicken orchard, so it's similarly possible to keep cats out of a garden.

My cats can get in with the chickens, if they want to, but mostly they can't be @rsed, which is about the level of protection needed. I think if it was just cats I wanted to deter, I'd go for the electric option, but foxes have been known to endure short term pain for larger gain. Pigs too.

None of these animals is stupid. It's only humans who need help coping with them. My neighbour's pigs made it to town several times before he just gave up! :rotfl:

The only problem Dave is that it is left to the neighbour to "cope with them", not the owner to keep the cat out of the garden/chickens etc, something is not quite right.

If I get a problem cat it isn't a problem for long.

i dont have any feelings towards my neighbour regarding this problem.

i do have feelings towards him about his 3 dogs constantly barking whilst he is at home until 1am in the morning - that he IS in control of but chooses to do nothing about

talk to your MP about it - maybe they will then pass the legislation you require.
