Hi gang
Mothernerd hope all goes ok with today's appointmenthope you keep warm and dry on your travels
Thrifty we should all take a leaf from that wise lady's book..
Yesterday was a sfd as predicted. Today however may be a spendy one.. I am currently step cat sitting for my ex, the poor blighter is constipated again due to a change in meds so the vet gave her an unsuccessful enema yesterday evening and some jollop so I am patiently awaiting the impending result!
While puss is snoozing I've tidied up and done 2 washes for my ex. Once the duvet wash is complete, I will head back to use my landlords dryer which'll dry the lot in no time  I may also pick up ingredients to make a lentil stew while on cat watch, which my ex can freeze..
Hope you turtle runners have a good day!

Mothernerd - fifthed! Hope it all goes well and you're in asap to get new hip.
Am working from home today so trying to get as much done as I can before I brave the gale force winds and another spendy day - only need a couple of bits so will go to L!dl and also avoid buying stuff I've run out of but don't need yet, I WILL keep to that pesky food budget this month.

Going for a sulk might have to go and declutter some chocolatebudgets = food gone:eek:/ petrol almost gone:eek:/nsd:mad:/ Treats: where the money gone? far far away:mad:/exercise not happening/declutter: only my purse:(
time for me :fat chance0 -
Decluttered/rotated some toys in the living room yesterday, but will still keep them. I think I'll only get rid of them once DD outgrown them. Nearly bought DD a long sleeved sleeping bag as it gets quite cold and drafty upstairs. Would have even used vouchers, but cancelled the order and just put her in a fluffy teddy bear winter suit I remembered I had from when DS was wee.
My old boss wants to go for lunch now this Thu. Last week I forgot my wallet and saved a SFD. I got a jar (one of those mummy's pampering fund pot things) full of pennies in the bedroom. But I can't think of anything to spend them on. So I might break it open and use them for things like that lunch, that I otherwise couldn't/ wouldn't want to afford. Sort of as my pocket money for the next wee while depending on how much is in there.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
thrifty lovely sentiment. I too am trying to enjoy things in life a lot more, relax on others and just be more charitable in general. I am a firm believer in karma, so try and put in what I would like returned.
Pocket money sounds a plan. I have a tin with £3.22 in it. That would almost buy me a couple of McD's burgers for lunch? Useful too, since they don't rot apparently.... :rotfl:
apple I much preferred 111 days.
mothernerd thinking of you on your mad trip today. I hope the appointment goes well and you come back with a shiny happy date for the opand all of the answers to your questions!
Caeraugirl I am rooting for you on your groceries. Shot mine to piecesso I will piggyback yours and cheer you on to greatness instead!!
Today I was unexpectedly treated to a hot chocolate in Costa, and a giant fried breakfast in Debs!:D have not eaten breakfast out in over 4 years so that was lovely. Costa... it has been months! Also got Jelly some lovely new clothes and picked up some anti-histamine travel sickness tabs which the pharmacist advises should cure the sickies on our journey on Thursday. I do hope so!
Anyways SFD scuppered there but I don't really mind if it means that Jelly keeps her new clothes pretty and doesn't projectile all over the train/car like last time! Poor little mite!
Right off to make more xmas cards. Today Christmas will be complete!!xx

Hi just a quick check in from Miss Naughty.
Was going to be a SFD but I decided to buy a slow cooker. Thought it would be lovely to come home in this horrid weather to nice hot meal.
Bought it online as the one I wanted Morphy Richards Sear and Stew was cheaper through Morphy Richards not much 3 pounds but it all counts and did it through Quidco so should get 10% back as well for being a new customer.
Feel so much better for my confession. I could have done without it though, oh feeling guilty.
Agree with Thifty, we should all try enjoy life more and in my case stop being a stress head and worrying so much.
Well done Lilt on getting xmas sorted, hope the tablets work with Jelly. Can't you still get strips that tag along the road from the car, used to help when mine were little.
Hope Mothernerd has arrived at hospital alright and appt is helpful.

Time to 'fess up - nearly £30 spent in charity shops...! 26 items acquired. A few presents, some clothes for dd 'to grow into' which are gorgeous, jeans and jumper for me, and lots of lovely fabrics for making things. That is a lot of money to spend in ch shops, mind you!
Went with dd's class to the library this afternoon - to have a session with the author of Rastamouse. Yeah, man!.
And now I need to do the washing up, as no jobs got done today. Then must try to identify a certain Littlest Pet Shop toy we have!

Thrifty I think that is a life lesson that I could do with adopting too. I am currently trying to adopt the method of putting issues in boxes and putting them out of my thoughts. It actually seems to work well as it stops me dwelling on them and means I can think about something else (hopefully something positive).
SFD todayalso LTW but no exercise due to the weather. Having an evening in my PJs on the sofa (doing a little bit of work too).

Thanks for all your kind wishes. Well the weather is fit for neither man nor beast, but managed to dodge the worst of it. Very tiring, slightly scary but ultimately positive day but spent quite a bit of money.
£5.20 on bus fare, spent £2 in pound shop, £10 on phone top-up (next month's budget, still have £8.32 credit but as I was at the bus station and could get most of the way to the supermarket sheltered by the shopping centre, I got it out of the way). The pound shop spend was because I needed to change a £20 note (need a £1 bus trip later in the week and very little change left) and intended to go out through the market to pick up a meal deal on my way back to the bus.
B**ts didn't have any sandwiches, passed on the very posh and the mainly pies shops and spent £4.29 at the small independent newsagents (2 sandwiches, 2 cans and a small oj). Caught a bus nearly as soon as I reached the stop (unfortunately had to put away the sandwich I'd just taken a bite out of - driver said I could get on the bus but not eat the sandwich, I was ravenous).
Ate at Wigan bus station, was going to the toilet (even if it meant paying) but hospital bus turned up and wouldn't risk it leaving without me. Another pleasant journey on the bus that goes the other way round so more familiar then unknown territory. Glad I didn't explore the train route further - remembered train station as being 'round the corner' from the hospital (once walked back from 'C*melot with 3 small boys, 1 walking, 2 being pushed). Well 'the corner' was 6 bus stops.
At the hospital the weather changed. Nice day apart from the odd wind tunnel up till then. Wisely stopped inside the shelter to put my pacamac on, as the heavens opened. And when the nice lady on the phone said I wanted the 'old building to the left of the main entrance', she meant the old building to the left on the far side of the ginormous car park (two of us were in the old building next to the entrance, looking for our course (his operation is tomorrow).
So some scary, some reassuring information. I have a tentative date (he back-tracked rapidly when he realised I hadn't been 'informed officially') of November 6th, which is 2 weeks and 2 days. He was quite relaxed about my having two possible addresses, especially as for each point I was able to say how much better the old house would be. Drawn up a list of equipment which will probably be delivered within the next week. If I move I can phone him and a new requisition will be issued so they can collect the loo seat and supply a better one (not enough room at the sides of the toilet here) with a frame.
So just got to sort Ds2's junk, de-tobacco the house, have a new boiler installed and move from here to there (in two weeks). Selling the house would be good too. He emphasised that this is acute not long-term ie the next three months will be tough but by end of January (if 6th November is the date) I should be in a lot better shape than I am now/ if nothing is done, things will get worse (can already see deterioration accelerating).
Did min-veg shop on the way home (SM I used to use when I was studying accountancy is in a parallel block to the bus station). Have had continental meat and YS strawberries for tea (and some hallow'een gingerbread may have fallen into the basket). Will add it all up later.
So lots to ponder but need to kick things into shape (never been less able for kicking in my life). May buy a full ticket for Friday and try to get to the doctor's (with list of tasks, need to check out district nurses and foot appointment) before going to mum's. Must tackle DS2 (I'll live if he stops talking to me, he's done it before, just lessens the chances of him paying me anything on the 28th).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
