Morrrrrrning runners! Off we go, a motley crew, dressed in lycra (gawd, the thought!), onesies (the brighter, the better), or snuggled up in a duvet being pushed along.

There are drink and snack stations along the way, take it at your own pace.

Lilt - is the huuuge reduction in painkillers due to what the osteo did? Result! Glad your mum and dad are chirpy.

Samiszel - hope you find some free wifi on hols, to keep up with your mse fix.

Calling - your birthday sounds ideal!

Off up to the big smoke for a course today - hope it's worth it! Have a good day everyone :D

    Good morning!

Off to a bad start of the third part of this challenge. My numbers look worse. Updated my signature to represent the true state of finances (i.e. a bit more debt and a later DFD). My budgets are way over, but then I wasn't sure what to set them at after maternity leave as I lost track of spending. So the next months I'll adjust my budgets and of course try to stay under.

P****ed off with OH. He wants to buy a new tablet and tries to convince me to buy a new labtop. Saying it would make live easier as they are both getting a bit old (he works in a tech based industry, so wants to have new stuff on a regular basis). I tried to tell him no, both still work even though slower that he'd like. That we still owe x amount, he is still in his overdraft, christmas is coming, we need to book flights at some point to visit my folks in Germany and the list goes on. And he knows nursery is dearer than we thought for both together. Grrrr...sorry Monday morning rant nearly over. Plus he does my head in in the mornings. I get up during the night to feed the baby, I'm up with both kids in the morning getting them, their lunches and me ready, even bringing him a coffee at 10 to 8 as a hint to get up and stop reading the news in bed. This morning he wanders down 10 past 8 (my bus is going in 10) saying ok I'll just have shower later then. Thanks, how accommodating of you. I really need to have a word with him about this and the division of work in the house too.

Promis ranting finished now :o. Can you tell that the two girls in my office are off :rotfl:

  • LOLLLLLLLLLLL thrifty don't get me started. Thursday and Friday mornings are the only two mornings I currently have to put up with Him... and even though I am running around like a mad hatter getting ready for work, Jelly is jumping on the bed with a nappy almost exploding with the nights efforts... he sleeps. And sleeps... And then when he is awake he tries to get Jelly to climb into bed with him for snuggles. Division of housework? The days that I work, he supposedly cooks and cleans. This means he asks me step by step what to cook; I have to remember to defrost the correct items, and then help out when necessary after coming home.. and then he leaves the pots until the following evening just before I get home. Never mind anything else like cleaning surfaces... vacuuming? Nope.. So, I feel you sister. And that is with 1 child, and only 2 days where this happens!!! Big hugs!

apple it has a whole bunch to do with the osteopath. Glad I can see results after £205 spent. Lucky I got it all back but still... icon_pale.gif - The rest of it is about the new tablets I am taking at night. 2 of these, vs 8 co-codamols. And they build up in your system and work better when taken regularly at night. Touchwood between the 2 I feel so much better!

Not a SFD. £8.37 spent in Savers where I went when 99p store was not open after nursery drop off this morning. I got my blessed Astonish for £1. Bathroom currently melting covered in it but the mould has all but gone already. I also got some bleach, bin bags and lemsips while they were cheap and good quality. I did buy some new face scrub as well as I just finished the last tiny scraping of my old one. It is the only brand I can use and only £2.09 for a giant tube. Aapri scrub :)

Jelly free morning, struggling to motivate myself but must be off :)

    Hugs all xx

does anyone have those days when they don't really know what they want to do with their life ?? Mines my career i have just started a new job working with young adults with LD, but feel i should have achieved more by now .
I am not planning on leaving yet as I do really enjoy my job and my CV will not look good as had two jobs in the last two years !!! but I hope to work in a specialised school one day. I have emailed two schools to see if they have voluntary places but not heard yet

Hi Luckystar, yes I have felt like this for the last 3 years. After leaving teaching to become self-employed I 'fell' back into teaching full time, something I had never planned on doing. I have now resigned from teaching once again as I now know for sure that it is definitely not for me (although I am staying on until Christmas to help out). At least I know what I don't want now.

I have my own wee business as a massage therapist which will keep us going financially and I have been offered a position with a competitor who wants me to work with her both doing massage and helping to develop courses (she owns a massage school) which I am sure I would enjoy.

But still I just don't know if this is what I want to do with my life and that's my problem. The one thing I do know is that family comes first and once I finish up teaching I will only work part time so that I can run the house, help my sister out with child-care, make healthy meals from scratch and keep a cosy home that isn't constantly covered in a thin layer of dust.

Best of luck Luckystarr with finding your dream, you sound like you are already further along the path than you think. Keep us posted on here how you get on. It may be worth phoning the schools to double check they got your email. I am sure no one will mind if you do that.

    Mornin

Thought I would start off with a confession :o I am going to buy a 'new' car this week  I ummed and arr'ed whether to fess up on this lol but decided that honesty was the best policy in the end ;) The car I am buying is one an elderly lady has owned and garaged for 14 years. It is in immaculate condition with 30,000 miles and with full service history, costing under £900. On balance, since Im considering studying a 2 year full time course next year which will involve travelling to placements, and my trusty old banger (now worth £200) needs work doing along with the increasing mileage, this is a little gem not to be missed and will hopefully last me another 5 years like my banger has (which also had 30,000 miles when first bought) :A I will need to use my overdraft to cover the cost of the purchase for the next 12 weeks although it is technically covered by my savings.

Stewby I do a similar thing to you where I withdraw £300 on pay day to last me the month and allocate £75 per week for fuel, food, fun and miscellaneous things. Whatever is left over is shared between the debt and the £2 coin saver tin (which will eventually hold £1000 when full! :T)

Fmess Sounds like a good plan you have there to help OH with his finances. Wish someone had helped me sooner, it took 20 years to reach my lightbulb moment and learn from my mistakes :(:idea: :T

Luckystarr It takes a bit of time getting into this moneysaving mindset, dont be too hard on yourself.. Little steps is best and this new routine will become a way of life before you know it. Planning, preparation and budgeting is key.. (and a strong will to avoid temptations ;)) I couldnt be without my black book in which I log my spends.. or my wall planner where I log dates to remember and the amount spent(car ins/tax/mot, birthdays, hair, dentist). This means I can keep my finger on the pulse and can monitor my finances, budget properly and see spending patterns and make predictions and estimates.

No spending planned for today as Im going into lock down mode to save the pennies and survive on what Ive got.. Im orf on my electric bike!

    Have a good 'un folks

Oops overspent on my food budget - blame xmas cake and having to buy brandy to feed it.
Today will be a sfd as putting all my cash in my bank account so I can't spend it ! Plus paid another tenner off my credit cards today.

I wish I could keep envelopes of cash Stewby and Phoenix but I would spend them.

Glad I haven't got an OH in my life sounds a nightmare. Can't control my own budget let alone someone else's.

Lilt thought having a grandson would be different than my own kids but its so much better. My daughter was saying he is at the WHY stage, He chips in. I am at the WHY stage? Why? Everything you say has a why after it. Funny and annoying at the same time.

Well thats Mondays rambling over with, chin up guys:beer:
