Lazy day for me. Had a bath and breakfast but fell asleep again once DS3 had left the house and didn't wake properly until 1pm (had already had the best night's sleep of the week). My arms are aching (who knew writing cards was so hard) so have pottered through the day. Put the washing out on the line and brought it in when dry and have used DS3's ticket to take more rubbish to the old house, put the bin out and brought back a few foodstuffs - pasta, salt, vinegar etc and an old arg*s catalogue to make DS3's Christmas present.
DS3 has also bought a camera whilst out so may finally get photos done to sell stuff - his latest commissioner has become a patron and is going to pay him a regular amount each week to work on the latest game. DS3 is slightly bemused as he considers his own artwork to be inferior to a couple of other artists but this man really likes DS3's art. He is effectively being paid to do the things he would be doing (on his own time) any way. Long may it continue (bits continue to trickle in my direction. I have also stolen DS2's Pikachu suit (see if he notices - made me feel better). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

xx
Thank you. We've discussed it before, he is so unaware of his finances, I had to figure out how much he had as spending money and we figured out how much he could spend per week, then he just spent it all straight awayIt really needs to come from him but he justs doesn't seem to be interested.

He's still not great with money but the penny dropped finally after we decided to buy a house together and start a family. All the talking before did zilch, suddenly he just changed. Sorry that's probably not much help

I don't know how possible this is fmess but could you maybe pay him weekly instead of monthly.
I know this sounds stupid but I will explain.
Say your OH receives his wages on 1st of each month, put £200 into a seperate account and hand him the card. Each week, put another £200 in.
Obviously this is just an example.
This is kinda how my dad works it. I get £400 on the 1st of each month and I know that I am not getting any more money until the following month.
It also means that no matter how much or how quickly I destroy the money I have, my mandatory payments will still be met (mortgage, bills, council tax, etc).
I have probably not explained this very well and it will all depend if your husband is open to the suggestion.
I wish you the best of luck and feel free to rant away. I am sure nobody minds.
Hugs.
Spend day today as I have a rip roaring cold and decided to buy cakes to make me feel better. Have used up some of my spending money for the wee holiday up north.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

Thanks stewby, it does make perfect sense
I'll see if he is up for discussing it in a few days, maybe on payday. I think sometimes I just get so bogged down and tired of it always running around in my head, that it seems a huge insurmountable problem.

Happy birthday for tomorrow lovely Calling.
Jellytot has so far slept 16 and a half hours away today between midnight and now. After 15 hours sleep last night, 2.5 hours nap, she was still in bed at normal 6pm bedtime and flat out. Think she is coming down with something and have the beginnings of a cold myself, so cranking up the vitamins!
Off to watch some MOTD.
Fmess why are men so utterly incapable of managing finances these days? Wasn't it the men who used to earn the money, do all the bills etc? I have yet to find a man who has an inkling what a months electricity costs. I feel for you. It shouldn't be your problem...

Went to the cinema to see Ninja Turtles movie, little man liked it, OH fell asleep as usual, and I thought it had a few too many plot holes to be honest.
We were naughty and bought sweets for £1 from tesc0 instead of £3 from the foyer, and I took an aldi multipack apple juice carton for the short man as well.ISA £1675MiniMoohound savings £3685.86 :T Plus £3800 CTF

Fmess, please don't feel guilty about ranting!! It must be very difficult to put up with that (although I'm a terminal singleton, so not best placed to advise!!) but I like Stewby's idea, if it sounds like a good one to your OH.
Spendy day after all yesterday, which is annoying as I'd forgotten I needed milk. Will be one today as need boots and a friend's birthday present, so will probably be slightly under target for the month, but still have 11 days to go. Need to accomplish a lot of uni work today in amongst going into town, so hopefully will be a productive day. Feel like I'm all behind and flailing, not helped by this being an expensive month anyway. However, onwards and updwards!

Hi All,
Been a bit busy round here recently. Currently going through knowledge transfer at work and forgot how tiring training someone up is. I only have 5 weeks left and know the person taking over from me (being outsourced abroad) is scheduled to be here for at least 4 of these weeks.
Not sure how many NSD's I have achieved so far. I will need to go through my receipts and try to work out both spends and NSD's. What I do know is I have more money in the bank than usual after everything has been paid for a second consecutive month. I have checked and can't see that anything has been missed so I must be doing something right :T:j:T
Happy Birthday Calling hope it's a good one :bdaycake:
