Quick check in as I am very tired. Spent £2.50 on travel to mum's. CAB visit was useful - lots of things to check out and form for a grant (may pay for boiler). Wrote mum's Christmas cards and it wasn't as bad as last year.

    Hey gang

Quick pre bed time check in. Mammoth spend of £354 on boiler repair today making it a grand total of £444 for service and repair! Spoke to a different and really helpful boiler man on the phone today and I think Ive been overcharged by about £150 all in all :angry: The guy I spoke to said I have a good boiler and recommended the boiler brand cover as opposed to Briti$h Ga$ because they have competitive rates and are brand experts who often have parts in the back of their van and can fix things there and then  Hmmm.. Calling that sounds like a really good deal youve had there! I will check their covers out next week once Ive got the next few shifts out the way..

Im orf to bed now so will bid you all nighty night..

  • Sorry I have been AWOL guys. I haven't switched my laptop on, have been working 9 hours a day the last 3 days and went to bed before 7 Weds night, then last night I watched an episode of the 100 and had a long chill out in the shower with another early night as ironically I didn't manage to get a good night the night before.

Have updated YNAB with everything. Having missed a few days and had bought most of the Christmas presents early in the week I had a stack of receipts to go through. Finally reconciled and my groceries has taken a big hit, due to a lack of planning :( so Luckystarr as you can see, I still do it even when I know my weakness and have applemuncher here to rescue me.

Unexpected spends = £63 on new gas/electric account. This is a £19pm saving based on last years exact readings so should actually keep up with my bills. I also get £50 cashback before Xmas. BUT... the first DD comes out this month on top of my £82 other DD. Hopefully I will be due a refund...

I am officially on holiday. I celebrated by forgetting to get anything out of the freezer for dinner. I also worked through lunch again and my defrosting soup was eventually thrown away at 5:30pm as I left work half an hour late, hungry and in a foul mood. So seeing as Him had already ruined my SFD by drinking all the milk and sugar and buying more I bought fish and chips :( bah.

Totals. Added 2 SFD's so am now at 12. Tomorrow and Sunday are also SFD's. Days of making Christmas cards with Jellytot and wrapping everyones gifts. Go home on Thursday so have a few days to do as I please first. This means all the washing, ironing, everything packing, housework etc etc. Woohoo... ;)

Phoenix I am gutted for you ref the boiler. So lucky to have a nice landlord and a minimal income which means I just got him a new boiler for almost nothing via NPower. It cost him less for the new boiler, years gas safety check & suchlike than it did last year for a safety check alone. Happy man.

Really need sleep. Night all xx

  • Happy weekend everybody! Spendy day yesterday but got to spend some time with good friends, so well worth it. Am about to make a to do list for the weekend <ugh> but hopefully today will be a NSD, although tomorrow won't be as I need to go into town. Would also like to get a couple of decent exercise sessions in, although that will depend on the weather, as it's currently howling wind/ pouring rain. Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll feel a bit more on top of things!!!

    Hi all.

I had a teeny bit of good news yesterday, I recently switched my broadband to Sky from BT and BT owe me £6.28 after the switch, this is most unusual as somehow we always seem to owe them. Mine and DH's mobile bills came in under what I had budgeted for this month too, he had lots of alerts on his phone which were costing money and after much pressing he has removed them.

Had a massive grocery shop delivered on Thursday and need to update my totals for that budget.

I took out boiler cover with npower and when they came to do the service they said they couldn't cover it because it had a little leak - they refunded me what I had already paid but I was annoyed about the whole thing.

Morning all :) Well I did spend on some christmas presents yesterday, but that's me done now for my two youngest. Came to £167.00 and went halves with ex so not too bad I suppose. I have not spent anything else. I woke up again in a decluttering mood, so very happy with that. I'm also happy that even though I'm over a year in this now, I'm much more aware of my cash flow before I spend now. My entertainment fund that never gets spent will cover the pressies-there is a plus side to having no social life :rotfl::rotfl: Sorry to hear of the unexpected bills people are having to fork out :( Take care everyone and have a good weekend :)
