mornin turtles
Not sure why I have been awake so early on a day off! Brain has been whirring away thinking of things to do. I think I will lose a SFD to Morries 99p apples today for juicing. (One of the disadvantages of living in a shared house is having little fridge, freezer and cupboard space which means frequent trips to the shops and little SFDs!) In 3 weeks I have eaten 37 small apples, 21 small avocados, 6 bags of spinachi (1.5kg), 6 cucumbers and 6 packs of celery. I will have spent £40 on these items alone by the end of the month which is a lot of money but as long I keep within my £100 per month budget and Im getting my 5 a day I dont mind.. My skin has a healthy glow from the green joohowever it is not a green glow
I think I will give the electric bike a whirl to get to MorriesIve not been clocking my 'cycling v driving mileage = money saved' this month because the change of work location means I must now drive to work as its to far to cycle
Since the boiler in the house I own with my ex is about to cost an arm and a leg to replace a new part, I am considering paying monthly for Briti$h Gas cover that will include annual servicing. Do any of you do this and is it good value for money?
Going to have some breakfast now and put a wash on. The washing machine finally got fixed on Tuesday after conking out for the third time. The repair man got to the bottom of the failure to drain and spin problem after discovering someone's thongs were caught in the pump! :rotfl:Glad to say they were not mine, I opt for something more comfortable nowadays

Good morning.
Yes we have that. It's £18 pounds a month, we just joined the week before we called an engineer out for a repair (we knew it was needed before we joined) and of course that didn't count. But I can understand that as they don't want people just to join and then get away with paying 18 quid for a 600 quid repair. I think there is a buffer period between joining and your first claim. But in the long run it's worth it. You pay £216 over the year, but a repair, service etc can easily run into the hundreds.
Today should be SFD number 9.
Have a nice day

Just saved myself a fiver today. Forgot that I had arranged to go for lunch with my old boss and a colleague. Never bring my wallet in anymore and didn't want to borrow money so postponed to next week. Plus I have a nice chickpea salad waiting for my lunchDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Apple-I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.Hi everyone, I didn't around to posting yesterday. I did spend. £15 on the toy glitch. I was going to get my youngest these items anyway so I made a saving. I've also kept up with my exercise.
The things I do to save: only take packed lunches in to work. When I see what others are spending a day, it's a shock  Am I the only one that gets annoyed when people think it's ok to beg you for money at work for said costly lunches, when they can see you sat there with your homemade stuff? They look at you like your mean, but if they have to borrow, they clearly can't afford it either, lol.:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Hi all,
Great big apologies for not checking in much this month so far... It's been a crazy month - bagged some overtime, and now looking at moving the end of next month too!!! Suddenly need to think about packing and getting organised!!! Staying in the same area for work, but upgrading to somewhere a little nicer!!!
Hope you're all well - I'll have to catch up on what's been going on at some point!

Had two spend-free days at work so I am now up to 10!!
I am afraid not much else to say just now. Today was a spendy day as I needed to go shopping. We had limited food. OH went shopping one of the days I was working but didn't think to buy any actual food, just bought vegetables (tomatoes, cucumber, chilis and peppers).

Hi folks
Reporting a spend day, not on apples as planned but on developing photographs to advertise a few bits to sell. May as well cash them in than have them sitting in boxes hidden away! Have thought of boot sales but pitches can range from £6 to £10 and I would be gutted if I didnt sell anything! Have also used £bay for things in the past but it can get a bit faffy :undecided I might sell a load of stained glass design books, tools, a glass stand and came box 'job lot' on it one day providing the buyer collects
Im going to have a 'me time' soak and have an early one..

Thanks for your reply Thrifty! I will definitely look into what types of cover Briti$h Gas have to offer, it might save me a small fortune in the long run!

speakingofart I do have white spirit (had to buy one recently as used all the old one - it was yellow with age) but as my skin is so dry normally + have acquired the odd scratch or two, I'm saving it for the brushes.
Well I have spent quite a lot of money today but I think a lot has been done, so not sure how repentant I am. DS1 was digging before I was properly awake. I did some shed tidying. Unfortunately the spade broke, which slowed him down. So spade has been added to the list of things to buy and he has agreed to come back next Wednesday to finish off.
A woman phoned from the hospital and I am now signed up to on the 'how to do things after the operation' course next Tuesday at 1.30pm. A group session followed by individual (have to measure heights of things and take paperwork with me).
Decided to get an all day bus ticket and see how much I could get crossed off the list (alternative was short hops on successive days). Took library books and cs donations, measured toilet at old house (another reason for getting back there 10 1/2 - 11" either side of the toilet, very little room here), emptied the drip bucket and added various items to the bin. DS2 has done nothing apart from picking up his letters. Must phone him but need to be in the right frame of mind first.
Caught bus to next town up to get more cs nighties - no white cotton but 2 t-shirty type ones so loose and comfortable but would look 'dressed' for recuperation period (presumably there will be good days and days I really don't want to bother). Called in a CAB, going back tomorrow for advice on whether I am entitled to anything, increasingly worried about up to a year with virtually no earnings (no craft fairs, limits on carrying things and visiting prospective clients). Even a bus pass would make a great deal of difference - so many people have helped me today when I was struggling to get on and off buses.
Back to town to buy the spade, several mop-heads (everywhere needs to be mopped), bin bags, toothpaste which I needed, spare toothbrushes which I will need depending on when my operation is. Total spend £27.53. Spent £3.97 on 3 nighties.
Came back to rest for an hour. Taken rubbish to old house (black bin) and paper and more food bits here + bought drinks to take on Tuesday (wasn't expecting that to be this month but she seemed very keen to sign me up and occupational therapists might help with benefits). Threw out the bread I found. Also measured meters in case any of the 'spare' doors or shed bits will make cupboards for them.
So a good day over all but a bad day for spending. Don't think I dare give advice on saving money today, although probably got more done than paying for separate trips (would have cost at least £8 instead of £4). Saw a robin this morning (thought I saw one the other day but it was side on so wasn't sure if I could see the red or not). So grateful for all the people who have helped me today - thought the community support officer was going to insist on escorting me home.:rotfl:My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
