Happy Birthday Calling!!!!
Hoping today will be a spend-free one but we are going shopping in a nearby town which is always a bit of a nightmare for me.
Fingers crossed that i can convince myself to save my money for the wee holiday up north.
It is what my dad has done with me... I get £400 a month which I have free rein over. It needs to be my petrol and food then it's mine for the taking.
Once I get rid of my debt and am able to manage my own money properly, then I will get the whole account again.
Without my dad and this forum, I can only imagine how much trouble I would be in. (considering I kept forgetting about the council tax at the end of the month, I think it would have been quite horrendous).
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.
Hugs to you all.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Happy Birthday Calling.
Fmess - I don't like Stewby's idea (sorry Stewby), your OH is an adult and part of that is managing his own money not being spoon fed. I would not lend him one single, solitary penny from now on and not being bailed out is the only way he will change.
I spent money on toothpaste and mouthwash yesterday, then later on a walk with the kids we bought them ice creams and a hot chocolate for me and DH to share.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi all! *waves*
Sorry for my absence in the last week! I have not had access to the internet so have been somewhat deprived of my MSE fix and my Turtle Triathletes! Looking forward to a long ol' read/catch up and will post again later! Have missed you all! x:coffee:

Lilt - this is what I can't figure out. In both our parents' houses, the man does all the finances but he seems to have picked up none of these skills.
Dolly - half the time that is what I try to do but he doesn't even leave himself enough money to pay for petrol to get to work! How does he think he's going to get there!!! He gets a payslip each month so surely he could figure out how much he gets and how much he has to spend but he just doesn't bother. Next month I am not lending him a penny. We get paid in a week and I've just paid for petrol so there is no need for him to have any money this week either.
Today is a spendy day. Got free tickets to a concert tonight, I'm driving (it's a long way from home) and I'm taking my sister who has offered to pay for food and drink. Girls are so much better than men, maybe I need to get a girlfriend insteadLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Happy Birthday, Calling !!
Fmess, I think Stewby's idea might be the better option short term with a bit of Dolly firmness thrown in. Must be hard not to bail him out, especially if there's a danger of you being dragged into debt with him. Perhaps weekly pocket money with no bail outs will help as you know he's only got to wait a week for more if he runs out of petrol? Just a thought so feel free to ignore.....
Another SFD, DH went to supermarket so picked me up the courgettes I needed, no charge to me, yay!
Now off to tackle ironing Everest that always seems to be here on a Sunday. Will park in front of a good movie and enjoy myself. Happy Sunday, everybody#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000

It's good to see my turtle triathletes again! I know exactly what you mean, LoveaDove, about missing your mse fix!
Nearing the end of the bike ride, soon to be putting on our running shoes. It is the final leg. Here's to a strong finish for us all :j.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
3rd leg: October 21-31 The RUNOff go the sprinters, the runners, the joggers and the plodders, and they keep going to the finish line. Everyone is a superhero when they cross that finish line. This is a time where every step is important, no matter how big or small it may seem. Every step takes us nearer the finish line.
Take time to look at how far you have come. Maybe play the percentage game – how much of a % have you paid off this month or in the last 6 months or in the last year? Would joining the 1% thread be useful for you?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
