  • Just debating whether to get rid of the t.v licence again. We've only had one for the past 3 years and to be honest we rarely watch it. The kids on the other hand do. However I've noticed lately a lot of what they are watching can be watched on i player etc. So only need to find out how to hook up the computer to the TV for a bigger screen. Any ideas ???????????

sazzle another option other than the HDMI cable is if you have a wii. You can get an app on there for bbc player. I can't quite remember how you get the app thing though. It should be goggle-able though.

Been awol for a bit and naughty into the bargain. Fuel for the car has been exceeded but I have had a few extra journeys with looking after dgd at her home and we still have a week to go. On the food front it's not too bad but here is the confession, I have been doing some big C shopping and spent about £50 but I need to get organized early as I have guests (a family of four) to feed and entertain for the four days over C, so I'm hoping they will volunteer some help(money) as I live on my own!!! In years gone by I would do it all and not ask, but they need to know I can't do it any more.

My heating is still off and I read the meters tonight so I keep an eye on them, mind you I have put a hot water in bed tonight.

Anyway not sure about this biking as I live in a very hilly area and which ever way I come back to my house it's uphill so it rather puts you off, but I will have a go (just the once you understand)

  • Not a NSD day yesterday - I rather stupidly forgot my toothbrush and had to buy a cheap one. However, I now have a spare at work in case of need and it wasn't very much - still annoying though! Tomorrow will be a spendy day as have the day off and need to go shopping, hopefully today will be spend free!

    Morning all

Sorry forgot to check in yesterday! Was another SFDS and LTW :) Also did some exercise too so not a bad day at all :)

Not sure how to do SFDs whilst on holiday? I have spending money saved up but realistically we will be spending everyday. If I stay within budget do the days count as SFDs?

So excited that tomorrow is payday, start of half term and holiday day :)

Hope you all havea good day, it's looking quite gloomy here weatherwise.

    Hi gang

Sazzle Curry$ do a Goggle chromeca$t device that allows programmes to be streamed from t'internet to tv (depending on what tv you have) via WiFi which costs about £30 ( I was considering one myself for the move that never was!). Not as mse as mothernerds cable, I would have looked into that for sure had I known!

  • Sorry, didn't get time to check in yesterday, was non-stop all day but in a good cause, did lots of teacher training research including half a day in local school and an open evening - my brain now whirring with the possibilities!

Was a SFD despite all that - had DS2's club payment but they're already put to one side at the beginning of the month, and don't think they count as spends. Will claim it as SFD but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Will catch up properly later, need to get ready for work, but have had quick scan of news. Thanks for cheerleading me with food budget Lilt, DH almost scuppered me by asking for multivits from last £20 but still have about a fiver left til payday on 28th (had originally hoped for end of month but that's not gonna happen) and that should do it, will be first time EVER I've stuck to a food budget so really hope I can last out. Have a lovely time with your folks, bet you're really looking forward to giving your mum a gentle hug.

    Have a good day all!!

    Good morning,

today will be a spend day as I'll be going for lunch with my old boss. I've got a fiver but will bring change home as I'll just have a water and filled bagel. I've not smashed my piggy bank yet for pocket money as I thought it might tempt me into spending rather than making do with what I got. So I will keep filling it a bit longer and maybe use it towards christmas as we'll be entertaining this year. This plus the Tesco vouchers (prob £40 over the year) should help a lot.

Got £34 pounds left in my account and took stock yesterday. I should really just need milk, fruit, and bread mix till payday next week.

Was wondering why I struggled more than expected this month, but going through my spreadsheet I realised that I still wasn't on a full wage this month due to mat leave and DS's nursery cost more due to school holidays. But at least I kept good track of all my spending and now know again what we spend on groceries etc and where I can make cuts.

    See ya later

Today may have to get a haircut, dry cut only hasn't been done for about 6 months and starting to look like it. Keep wearing it up at the moment but my ears get cold.

Afternoon off work, so hopefully nice dry dog walk and then belated bday meal out tonight bf's treat. Looking forward to surprise meal out - no idea where I am going - Happy Meal at McD's?

Have a good day folks, x
