    Evening everyone!

Alas - not a SFD as was running late and ran out without thinking about lunch - annoying as I had ready made tuna pasta in the fridge and multi-pack cans (25p)... As it was then had to buy lunch and a drink which wasn't so savvy! :(

Talking of rainbows I drove towards an amazing one on the way to work - arced right over the road. I couldn't help but think how they must lift everyones' spirits - even on gloomy days like this morning. That made me smile.

Bagged a day's overtime too and due another one next week so I'm really :)

    Another NSD for me.

Called to cancel one of my CC's and got roped into accepting 2 new ones!! Luckily I pay in full every month, but what do I need another TWO cards for?! They are far too pushy when you call up, I just couldn't seem to get out of accepting.

I have taken your advice, applemuncher, and shall have a spend day tomorrow whereby I pay for the parking to get to charity shop, then get a few bits all at once and hope for an NSD on Friday instead.

Heating still not on... was chilly when I woke up this morning though!

A rather spendy day here, albeit a planned one.

I braved the primarni emporium, getting there at about 8.45. And I would thoroughly recommend going at that time! Nobody about! However, I had a mission and didn't waiver (too much...). New jeans for dd plus some red reindeer super warm leggings for Cmas for her. 2 of their fleecy throws and a pack of hair elastics. Job done. On the way out I did see a LOT of Frozen stuff (Anna and Elsa) but didn't stop to look. The bits I saw when looking at jeans were a tad pricey for that shop! We can make a teeshirt for dd with online pics and special paper where you print the image and iron it on. Dh is a whizz at this. Me? I burn it and have been banned!

The throws are now safety-pinned to my curtains and just knowing they are there makes me feel warmer! That and the winter duvet perhaps :D.

samiszel - ya boo hiss to your cc company! What bullies! Maybe just DO NOT USE THEM. In fact, why not FREEZE THEM IN A TUB OF WATER. Just because you have them does not mean you have to use them. How many cards do you have?

Well done people, racking up those NSDs, eating out of store cupboards, being hyper aware when you 'slip up' and have to spend.

Two more days of the swim left - we'll all be all wrinkly! Then transition to the bike section :D.

    Hey all!

Lilt- So sorry to hear your news!! *Hugs*

mothernerd - Yes you have mentioned the concept of portable rainbows before, but not shared such examples. I love it! Love rainbows! Saw a double one today, and was also incredibly distracted when a tow truck ahead of me was driving along through puddles and the spray from the wheels ended up casting a mini rainbow as the sun caught it for about 5 seconds.

apple muncher - Sounds like you timed the land of primarni well! It's good to go in knowing what you are looking for! I find myself wondering around it sometimes, wide eyed and shielding my face from frantic elbows when some unbeknown panic shopping sets in with other shoppers- the joys of Saturday shopping!

Training is all done, so back to the usual 9-5 tomorrow...boooo! Not even been there that long but have enjoyed a lil break from routine (getting up about half hour later as training location nearer than work) and learning something very useful for my job. Upside is only 2 more work days until the weekend! :)

Another SFD today so I am now up to: 5!

    Roll on the weekend!

    Evening all

Love the portable rainbow mothernerd :)

Spend day today for OHs bread. I swear, apart from at the weekends, my only spend days are due to his bread.

Did a tutoring session so earned a few more pennies however I need to keep them to pay off the pair of boots I bought at the weekend when I realised sling back pumps were not going to last all winter!

Not much else to report. Looking forward to further clearing out at the weekend :)

  • I had planned a SFD today but, having been choked with cold for over 3 weeks now I gave in a bought some cold and flu supplies. I have a parents evening tonight and the only way I would be able to talk to all the parentsfor several hours is to have my throat feeling a bit better.

Other than that just plodding along. Agreed with work that I will finish up at Christmas so having a think about what else I would like to do. I love working with young people, just not in an Education seting as it's overwhelmed me this past year and I have been so stressed. I have an income from my massage so I could look to expand that or work as a therapist for someone else. Lots to think about.

    Good morning!

Planning another SFD today as I got no money on me any way.

Got a nice salad for my lunch as I grew tired of stodgy warm food. Will have lamb tagine from the freezer tonight and will make my mum's beefsteaks tomorrow (German/Saxon "beefsteaks" are like beef patties) with HM fries and veg. I really enjoy being a bit more organised in terms of dinner plans again. Makes life so much easier. Sat we're at FIL's, Sunday is big roasting tin toad in the hole, Monday is chicken pesto pasta and Tuesday is fish day, and Wednesday sausage rice stir fry.

    Have a nice day

P.S. Got a big leafy plant gifted yesterday from BIL which livens up a empty corner in the living room now.

Hi guys sorry for non posting yesterday was feeling bit weepy and flat. Fed up of staying in and being broke.

Yesterday needed tights and hair clips so a fiver spend. Plus got a new phone, on contract but as mine hardly worked at all, exchanged earlier. Haven't gone mad just iphone 4 at 15.00 a mth.

Today decided to meet old friend for lunch he always cheers me up, best mate you can have. So doing a fiver pub lunch and maybe the one drink !

Think sometimes you need a break from work, home disasters and saving. Tf some money to my credit cards today so hopefully next week totals should reduce a bit.

Calling, just looked at your sig and if I've read it right, notice that you've halved your debt since your LBM and have less than 5 months to go til it's gone - that's really going some! Sometimes it's hard to see when you're living the frugal life every day, think you're right about needing to take a break from it from time to time, and sounds like your mate's just the person to cheer you up - hope you come back from pub lunch with new resolve. Well done on your progress so far :T:T:T

And Allie, on NSD thread (I think), prescriptions don't count as spends, so wonder if this could extend to essential medical supplies......?
