Calling, just looked at your sig and if I've read it right, notice that you've halved your debt since your LBM and have less than 5 months to go til it's gone - that's really going some! Sometimes it's hard to see when you're living the frugal life every day, think you're right about needing to take a break from it from time to time, and sounds like your mate's just the person to cheer you up - hope you come back from pub lunch with new resolve. Well done on your progress so far :T:T:T

And Allie, on NSD thread (I think), prescriptions don't count as spends, so wonder if this could extend to essential medical supplies......?

Yep, just checked the intro and medical stuff doesn't spoil an NSD. Claim it!!!!

Hi everyone :) I'm working from home today :)

I have had a spendy day today. I bought a blanket type wrap thing for £2.99 which will keep me toasty and warm instead of putting the heating on when I'm alone in the house. I also got youngest son some lego reduced to 8.98 for christmas.

My daughter turns 18 in December and is looking at a limo bus party. Their dad is on board for this thank goodness, but it does mean my pennies are all accounted for  I did some exercise this morning and aim to do some de-cluttering too.

Calling, It sounds like you've hit a plateau after doing so well, sometimes you need a rest to do the final hurdle. Enjoy your pub lunch and catch up :T Take care everyone and keep going :)

    Hi gang

Lilt Sorry to hear youve had upsetting news :( take care of yourself.. hugs xx

Calling This debt busting journey is tough going and the life style changes that come with it in order to live more frugally and save pennies can wear anyone down. I can remember feeling quite depressed toward the end of my 22k debt due to extreme penny pinching and desperation to be debt free :(. But you have to live your life as well and its important to do the things you enjoy or treat yourself on occasion.. You have already come a very long way

Lost a SFD yesterday as I was running low on spinachi for my juicer! I pass Morries en route to work and I have found they are the cheapest by far for the salady ingredients I need to make my green joo :D 99p for a 300g bag of bargain spinach plus 4 activia stickered yoghurts for 29p :T No spending for the rest of today though as Im resting up ready for my last night shift tonight :j

Apple muncher and Mothernerd the jenny joseph poem made me smile. I must be a younger version of her 'old woman' at heart as I live in my purple dressing gown and pink slipper socks.. There have been times when I have moved the car or taken the bins out sporting this attire, finished off with green off road running shoes and a grey pin stripe trilby hat (if its raining) :D I think the neighbours are quite used to me by now :p

Hope you have a good day folks! Its thundering here so Im going under the duvet

    Hi all.

Nsd for me again today. Needed it as I have a spend weekend ahead. *sigh*

I should be excited to see one of my best friends and another friend. But the two of them are throwing around some expensive sounding plans. I always feel like such a kill joy when I say I can't afford it / justify the spends. Neither friend is in a better place than me financially.

Meh any ways rant over, it's been a long week. Friday tomorrow! Hope everyone has a great day!

Braved the torrential rain to drop a bag off at the charity shop. Spent on parking, contact lenses, bit of food and a £10 donation to my friend running a half marathon for charity.

Been told by the "big boss" that we need to wear academic hoods & gowns to a function in November. She was surprised to hear that I didn't own one (Really?! All of my friends just rented for the day... and that was expensive enough!). Then I spoke to a colleague who said she had bought hers the other week for £240!!! Surely, I can't be expected to buy a gown. Though, I don't know anybody I can borrow from. Hmph

Anyways, hope everybody is ploughing on today- almost Friday!!
