Hi everyone I've missed the last few days but life has got in the way and by the time I've sat down I've only been fit to slob.

Anyway another couple of sfd to be added and only small spends so I will update my signature in a bit.

I'll go now and catch up, back to work tomorrow and all over the weekend boohoo!!

Tomorrow is the last day of the swim.

So whether you are like a mermaid (sorry abundant!) cutting through the water, or doggy paddling frantically whilst trying to remember to breathe, we are in this TOGETHER :D.

Whatever you are doing, enjoy tomorrow and smile at the rainbows (real or imaginary!).

    Hi All,

Well today was my first day back at work. The abscess has burst so the pressure has reduced along with a lot of the pain. Now only need standard pain killers not industrial strength :rotfl:

Went back to dentists for the full checkup and pleased to find out that my teeth are in really good condition except the one causing the trouble which definitely needs to come out. Being referred to a specialist as there is too little of the tooth available for the dentist to extract it herself. Had a temporary filling which will last up to 3 months so I can arrange the extraction for after my redundancy meaning I won't need to take time off work. I do have another course of antibiotics as there is still some infection but on the whole good news :j

Productive day at work today but not necessarily work related :rotfl:

    - Won £25 as I picked the winner of the Japanese Grand Prix
    - Won 2 tickets to The final round of the BTCC at Brans Hatch for this Sunday
    - Received a goody bag I had won in our in house magazine
    - Got a mini box of Lindt chocolates sent in by an ex colleague

If only every day at work was this productive :rotfl:

Lilt sorry to hear the news about your Mum. It must be hard when you live so far away. I only live about 50 miles from my Mum and that is hard enough when she is ill

Traveller thanks for the info regarding Arnica. I have heard of it but have never used it so it might be worth a try

Saniszel I thought banks etc were supposed to be lending more responsibly nowadays. How can they justify offering someone trying to close one CC 2 new ones? I would be inclined to send them both back addressed to the chief Exec complaining about the pressure you felt to take them out. But then I do like to write a stroppy letter at times :rotfl:

Hope everyone is well and coping with the changeable weather we seem to be having at the moment.

Have a Good Friday and an even better weekend

    Chez x

I.m so cold. Just put the heating on for the next 15 minutes to persuade the boiler to remember what it's job is (then I can have a bath and wash my hair). A NSD. Have painted the lining paper I put up yesterday and smoothed the filler and covered all the patched up bits in the dining room plus the streak in the tiny bedroom from where DS3 got the bed stuck (DS1 got it flat).

Really wanted to get the tiny bathroom done too but hot bath, cuddly jumper and under the bedclothes sounds better. Another paint can finished off (couple of spoonfuls left in the tray to see if there are any glaring omissions in the morning light (covering lining paper, pale lemon and white paint with neutral paint that isn't very different to any of them in a stair well). If I could make myself do the understairs toilet that would finish off the white paint as well but so tired.

Don't talk about chocolate. Have persuaded myself that a low-fat fruit yoghurt with porridge oats will do as a treat (I cheated and took my favourite flavour. The one I had this morning and the next in order are my least favourite). Taken last two slices of bread from the freezer for a sandwich tomorrow (eaten the last tuna buttie from the freezer with tea - a very frugal mix of leftovers that filled a corner but weren't anything to write home about). Also ate the crusts off the loaf and last slice - 1 1/2 today and other last night.

Think I will be indulgent and watch an hour long programme on i-player - was too tired last night. Really am nearly finished on the house, now. have a lovely day tomorrow everyone and a lovely weekend.

Thanks guys for cheering me up you are the best. Don't discuss my debts with my friends sometimes bottling it up gets to you.

Caeraugirl unfortunately looks as if my debt free day will have to moved as haven't any lodgers last few months or any interest lately.

Had a fun lunch with my friend how time flies been 9 months since we last met up, but now decided to do a regular music quiz night with him. Cheap night out.

Cew omg sounds as if you are really going through the wars, glad rest of your teeth are good.

Applemuncher think I have just been treading water front crawl tomorrow.

Brilliant rainbows here today, still hunting for the pot of gold. Amazing lightening show last night went on nearly 2 hours. Better than the tv.

Going to get motivated tomorrow need a better paying job, one at least gives you a pay rise.Last one 10 yrs ago just feel worthless there and now our local council talking large increases in council tax.

    Hello all

Sorry for absence yesterday. Think I was down in the dumps and a bit under the weather from the news & Jellytot dragging home various ailments from nursery to share. Couldn't shake it off all day at work, where I had to cover for the only 2 colleagues who do a job I am trained to cover for. Who let them take a week off at the same time?!?! - has left me unable to see my desk, and my usual workload is screaming at me in red, underneath the piles of their work. So I went to bed at 6.05pm with Jellytot!

Huge thank you to everyone for your well wishes for me and for mum. I really appreciate the strength and am sorry so many of you have similar experience :(

Calling, allie & anyone else feeling like it is a long hard slog - take a step back, stop looking at what you have left to do, and look at what you have done so far. From tiny acorns... xx

2 SFD's here, taking my total to 7 for the month. Tomorrow should be a SFD too as long as the milk and bread holds out! Have lunch already prepped and waiting for me in the fridge at work. Dinner is a chicken korma with leftover green beans and some frozen peas added to make it last another portion ;)

Got a voucher for Lidl for this weekend, if anyone has a printer and would like to share in my thriftiness ;)

Got to add another 5 miles onto my total and a few more squiddles onto the groceries from Tuesday  then sig will be up to date again.

    Night all xx

Thank you for the voucher link Lilt. Will use it on Sunday as I'm sure I'll spend 30 as I need washing powder etc too.

Starting to come down with the lurgy so off to bed. Yay tomorrow is Friday......

On a side note: will anyone be making their little ones a thrifty Halloween costume and if yes what? Ds wants to be a spider atm and for little Dd I got a hand me down skeleton baby suit.

  • A spider? Long sleeved black t shirt and black trousers, 4 pairs of black tights stuffed to make the legs? ;) Primarni thick tights are good for that sort of thing! Jellytot hasn't had a costumer since a sleepsuit with the skeleton on it :rotfl: adorable! - No one comes here as we are in flats, and we won't be heading out!

Glad voucher is useful. Laughing at the irony of my link requesting those sharing in my thriftiness, first being used by you thrifty ;)

    Hi all

Sorry for the lack of posting :(

Been catching up on the thread wow it's been busy

Lilt sorry to hear the news about your mum sending you hugs at this difficult time .
Mothernerd congratulations on the new hip :)

This week has been very hit and miss. My car cost more than expected so budgets are all out of sync at the minute.

Feeling a bit meh at the minute and struggling with MSE and trying to get on top of it all. There always seems to be something !! trying to cut down and save to pay things off but it's not really coming together at the minute.

Anyway enough of my moaning ... there are many people worse of than me just need to stay focused !!.

I will check in more this week (what's left of it).

Keep up the good work guys you are doing amazing xx

    night xx
