Yo turtles
Mothernerd Here's to you and your forthcoming hip op! I hope it will give you and your mobility a new lease of life and your "small world" will get bigger again :j
So Ive woken up to a chilly house and given my room a warm up with my little electric heater. A ten minute burst is enough to take the chill out of the air. Having lived in this shared house for a few years its amazing how people dont pay attention to energy saving measuresThey heat the whole house instead of their room.. mistakedly (is there such a word?) switch the water on constant instead of an hour, leave all the downstairs lights on (4 rooms) so its lit up like blackpool and gone to bed.. switched the garden lights on in error while switching on conservatory lights... put the dishwasher on normal mode instead of a quicker energy saving mode.. I wouldnt like to be the one paying the bills here! I feel like their mum sometimes correcting things to save on energy
and making sure our rents dont go up!
Anyways, another SFD in the bag as Im on another mini night tonight and Im now going back to bed with a full belly
Have a lovely day folks

Great news on hip replacement, Mothernerd, so glad you're going to get sorted, and hopefully before Xmas too!
Lilt, love Jelly's dentist tale, did you get a sticker for being a brave mummy too?
CEW, think you should demand one when you go for extraction too! Glad mouth feeling a bit better, any pains in the head area are always grim.
Lost a SFD yesterday as needed to get milk for work, and again today as have been to Mr T while in town for library and have stocked up on milk, bread, fruit, lunchbox stuff and cereals - we seem to go through all of that at a rate of knots. While I was there, picked up a Spacehopper for £2.50! - thought of you Applemuncher - for nephew's Xmas present, plus some wrap, Xmas gift for niece, some chocs as part of DS1's birthday present (not til next month but like to get organised) and new boxers for DS2 as he was in dire need, his old pants are WAY too snug.......
We have 11 nieces and nephews, and we don't buy for 6 of them any more by mutual agreement with their parents, but BIL has 5 children and his OH still insists on buying for ours every Xmas and birthday despite a couple of attempts on my part to stop it. But that's another story.
Although there were a couple of unplanned spends today, I'm still within budget so far - just need to get a few SFD's under my belt for the rest of the week now, head down and keep swimming!#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000

SFD no 4 today. Have done online shopping will count that tomorrow as not sure exact amount yet.
Don't seem to be getting anywhere fast on the credit cards front, as I am changeover mode from using my credit card to not using it. Means this month I am not in arrears for petrol and food and having to use hard cash. Maybe more debt reduction next month !! Excellent news Mothernerd on getting sorted for your total hip replacement surgery, Keep well before you go in, don't go near people with coughs/colds/flu, push them away with stick or something.
Are you having a GA or a spinal anaesthesia?
Another no spend day for me having spent last night in hospital wheezing and short of breath, had to have IV steroids and nebulisers, home now and feeling a bit better.

Congrats mothernerd !
Nsd today! Even managed to make some money in the strangest way. One of the children in my class gave me a whole bunch of sainsbury vouchers. Mainky money off online which I won't use but one was for £4.31 off the next shop.
Oh is cooking something tonight as surprise using my y.s bargains from last night.

Today I am grateful for the sunshine, for selling my stepper (why store it here when someone else can use it?), for making dd a marshmallow cheesecake, for a lovely friend collecting dd for me, for finding a parking space extremely easily.
Selling something is a rarity for me! But it's £10 in my purse, one less thing in the house, and someone else is able to exercise with it. I am MUCH better at not spending than I am at making money!
Once again my NSD has been lost to milk. Think my brain is a little addled! Tomorrow is my food shopping day - yippee!

Hi all!
Congrats on your news mothernerd!Super pleased for you!
Only spend today was on fuel, really couldn't scrap by another day. I am due to go out for a jog with friend's in a little while. We haven't been for a while so I am not sure how much jogging will occur this eve, as we usually end up gossiping if we haven't seen each other for a while. Still getting out and about is good in my eyes!
I have completed week 4 of my Futurelearn course (6 weeks in total) and I have this evening started week 5 of my course. I have to submit a 500 word assignment this week, so will need to allocate an evening where I have enough braincells to put something together.
Hope you all have pleasant evenings! Keep warm! x:coffee:

Thanks for all your good wishes. I know it's a long process but should be a good outcome at the end. There wasn't room in the car for me to go and visit mum so didn't bother to get dressed - pulled a pair of paint stained jogging bottoms on over a dusty black t-shirt and old bed wearing cardigan but that was after I'd made a trip to the bins with a purple fleece blanket wrapped round my lower half.
Used another few bits up including the filler (bits in the dining room and some holes on the side of the attic stairs - doesn't need too be perfect as the handrail will be going back over that space), put 6 adverts on pre-l*ved (just collected a pile of small pieces of embroidery cloth from the tiny room otherwise a very quiet day with no spending.
Seem to have lost a page out of the old notebook as can't find the measurements for some things I need to get rid of. more to give away free - it's not coming with me when I move. I am useless at selling but I don't want/need these things and if I can make some money that's a bonus.
Not planning on going out until Friday but have wrapped 2 presents and set aside 3 bottles of pop which can go to mum's Christmas Fair. She also mentioned getting rid of some books (I have been trying to get her to get rid for months), she took one into hospital and decided she doesn't need a shelf full that she never looks at (dust catchers). Other people on the ward have k*ndles. I had already suggested it as a possible present for her partner's family to buy her (easier to hold and see). Someone was supposed to be finding her an old one to try, first. Also need to try to sell DS2's washing machine. Let's hope it all comes together on Friday (might even be able to buy DS3 a couple of bags of pasta).
Today I am grateful for the bin men, for DS3 (he hopes to have some more money to give me soon - doing a small game for someone and a drawing for someone else, but needs some pocket money for his weekend away 25 and 26th but going to gf's for a couple of days before that. he has paid for his transport/ room/ con fees etc) and telephones (infernal instruments but they do make life easier at times). I'm sure I have smiled today but can't remember why.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hello all,
Am sat in bed, with the windows closed, which is unheard of, but torrential rain/hail and thunderstorm earlier meant me running around like a loony trying to close them all! Also got the electric blanket on. Had a hot water bottle earlier on, and have put Jellytot under a big single duvet instead of her little one. This saves me putting on the little heater I had to put on a couple of nights ago in her room. And finding it tipped over in the morning (luckily she turned it off too) - she has woken up a few times in the night and finding a balance between airless with the heater and freezing without is hard work. The duvet will be too heavy for her to throw off in her sleep, but not so heavy she will be too warmfingers crossed for not having to jump out of bed 3x a night again. The thermostat is still stubbornly set to 16 degrees in the day and 15 degrees at night and has not kicked on once so we are fine!!
Had a lovely meat free dinner. Stir fried green beans, broccoli and peas, with sesame oil and soy sauce. Honey roasted carrots, and a jacket potato with some cheese. Unorthodox but delicious.
Also got some pretty awful news from mum after her consultants visit so feeling very down after watching her cry on facetime and not being able to hug her. Roll on 2 1/2 weeks time when I can.
Not a SFD. Jellys hair cut, so took the opportunity to stock up on veg, bread, milk etc. Doubt I need anything other than those items for the rest of the month.
Off to browse. Hope everyone is ok. xxx

NSD for me today. Not much else to report, really.
DH is away with work all week, so have been successfully resisting the urge to buy junk food for dinners and actually cook for just myself. Plenty in the cupboards and fridge/freezer, so I never really have an excuse anyway
Planning another NSD tomorrow, but Thursday I thought I'd drop off some bags to the charity shop after work... which would probably involve 50p parking. What a toughie! Giving to charity sooner vs. risking a NSD over 50p....Letting Go NST #17
