  • No spend day yesterday, and was quite productive - did my uni reading and sorted out a couple of odd jobs that I'd been meaning to get round to. Need to shop today (have no veggies) and do a job application that's due tomorrow, so won't be a SFD but should be low spend at least.

CEW - hope your tooth pain is improving.

Fmess - it is typical that people getting free school meals might be entitled to help paying for trips, certain sectors of society get help with everything and those in the middle just carry on getting squeezed.

Wow this thread moves fast :)

Im claiming a SFD as it will take WW3 to make me leave the house today.

Turfed DS1 to his girlfriends for the weekend to help her pack so I could paint his bedroom and wash the carpet we've decided to change rooms with DH & I so they can have a bit more space and the on-suit that they can clean themselves :)

Haven't managed to pay anything off the debts this week but covered all the DD for the month and not used the cards so next weeks takings can all go off the CC.

Also had a look where the nearest food bank was was saddened to find their is now one in the nearest village to us as it's quite a affluent area sign of the times I suppose shall walk our donation up next week. I likely beat you all on the daily mileage as im 150+ a day good thing is I don't do many personal miles as I get sick of driving and prefer to walk after being sat all day.

Have a fantastic time Stewby and hope you feel better soon CEW and those that are under the weather.

    Morning all

dolly it does sometimes seem like that

Trying to have a really productive day today, after just doing a few jobs yesterday, however I really just want to curl back up in my warm bed. So far I have tidied the whole house, dusted the lounge, cleaned the bathroom, done the recycling, cleaned out the bin, transferred a lot of random items back into the garage, done a clothes declutter, fed OH and sent him off to golf, portioned the meat from the food shop and put it in the freezer, fed the dogs, put the washing in, loaded the dishwasher, updated my spreadsheet and I am now about to tackle my marking for a few hours (and unload and reload the washing machine in between).

Really struggling now to find items to declutter as I feel like I have decluttered a lot this year, however my house still seems to be bursting at the seams and there are only 2 people living here. Was hoping OH's friend would be moving all his stuff out this weekend (he moved out nearly two weeks ago, after staying for four weeks) but the spare room is still full of his stuff, as is the garage. I'm not bothered about the garage so much, but I would love the drawer space back in the spare room.

Anyway better stop procrastinating as these books will not mark themselves :(

  • Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, I have been choked with the cold. Rousing myself today to get the shopping done. I am aiming to buy 2 weeks worth of groceries to minimise the number of trips in the car.

I will post my plans for the week ahead later.

Fmess you made me feel tired. Decided to dedicate today to using up. tidying up and cleaning (all contributing to de-cluttering) but need to do things gently today in preparation for tomorrow's trek (must get some string and measure it on the map using bus routes - or check if I can take it off the timetables). So far I have managed to set the washing machine off, remove one peg from each of the potato grow sacks on the line, clean my rucksack (an egg got broken - DS3 and I are blaming each other and egg slime went inside the bag) and hang it up and put one length of weed suppressant fabric over the end of the line so that extra soil will drop off and it can either be reused or binned and collected DS3's pizza box mountain - needs to be squashed and binned before the remaining rubbish is collected up.

My flu jab arm is throbbing a bit so will find another couple of little jobs to do before I get out of bed (did most of the others when I went down to collect porridge/ yoghurt for breakfast - and to take first round of pills). Sacrificing another old curtain for rags (lots used for paint rags - don't want to clean with rags with dried up paint on). Bought the material when I was expecting DS2 so 28 years - think I have got my money's worth out of them. Will try reading one of my library books for a bit - nearly half way through and it's interesting but not gripping, so will decide today and it can go back tomorrow or not.

Will keep plodding on - hopefully will turn into a productive day. Need to write out last week's flylady (fairly comprehensive list) and tackle things bit by bit. I do keep noticing the odd door-frame that needs wiping or a bit of floor that needs scrubbing but have been focused on painting/ diy, have tried to clean when I consider a particular room 'done'. Oh well, plod on, plod on.

    Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone :) Fmess-I was both exhausted and embarrassed after reading everything you have done! I've yet to get cracking! I've spent zilch today and will start my declutter frenzy soon. Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone and keep going :T

CEW. Hope your toothache has calmed down.

    Fmess another busy bee.

After a morning of dog walking, filling in holes in the ceiling after the leak, painted ceiling and touched up walls, not sure if paint is the right colour but will look better than stained wall, decided Sunday day of rest, so going to be busy having a spa day at home, painting nails, avoiding shops and finding winter clothes I can wear for work in my wardrobe.

See you Monday looking all glam.

    Afternoon all,

Nsd number 3 yesterday. Not quite the same today, had to get my eyebrows done before I scared the children tomorrow and got my car cleaned. Not very me but the place near me do a fantastic job for 10 pounds and I live in a flat no way I can do it myself.

Dinner at oh mums tonight so saves some money and prepd my lunch for tomorrow.

Aiming to get motivated to start exercise again tomorrow so not to waste my gym membership. Meeting a friend for a swim after work. Socialising with no extra cost outside of budget.

    Have a great Sunday all.
