Very quick post tonight as I want to try to catch up on some of the sleep I have lost over the last few days. Still in a lot of pain but it is getting a little better.

Spend day today so still only on 1/16 but it's early days.

Hope to bag at least 1 more over the weekend.

    Back tomorrow

    Nite all

Dear mothernerd, do take it easy. Hope the bath helps.

Moneymash - thank you for dropping in to tell us of your debtfreeness - congratulations! :T:T:T Kat has inspired so many in her own questfor freedom.

And kat - good to hear from you! Hope moggy returns soon.

Tiggy - love the free food! Well done you!

Sounds like we may need to have a naughty staircase this month.... We seem to be queueing up to bagsy our places! I claim a place - but only for tonight - as we have been to the CIRCUS :j:j:j! Had vouchers that got us half-price tickets and took snacks for dd and her light-up whirly thingy from last year in the hope that we'd get away with not buying another. Dh did buy her some candyfloss, and I paid for some raffle tickets (didn't win :D), but we came in £2.50 under budget.

Got to go to work tomorrow - boo hiss - on the buses - ya boo hiss indeedy! So must set the alarm for 6.30 (ugh) and go to bed with dd in the next few mins.

    Nighty night, one and all!

    Evening all

SFDS number 2 here today :)

Not having a very amicable few days with OH atm so feeling stressed and although I was initially excited for the weekend, I'm now not so pleased that we'll both be home for two days :(

Anyway going to have a good clear out tomorrow and massive tidy up so hoping that'll cheer me up a bit.

Gave my friend my soup donation today so she's taking it to the soup kitchen this weekend :)

Today I am grateful for my lovely sixth form classes, my brilliant sisters and my warm home.

Another sfd for me, but I do have an on going list by the kettle I keep adding to, so probably on Monday I will do a shop. I'm determined this month to have a good to at debt reduction over the normal payments.

Not much to report, have tomorrow off work but I will be going to see dd for a bit as her oh is at work and then back to work on Sunday. Back is still holding up with the help of pain killers from doctors but I have started to cut them down.

    Have a lovely weekend

    Hi guys!!

Moneymash :j:j:j:j:j:j congratulations!!! Incredible stuff, well done you.

applemuncher your lunches sound delicious and very healthy. I bought a 45p packet of 'great scot' dried broth mix to test last week. Serves 4, add sauteed veg, stock etc, after first soaking the pack overnight in water, and then boiling it for an hour... followed by another 40 minutes in with the veg and stock! It was absolutely fab. So full of flavour, thank you Mr L's veggies for actually tasting of veg and not fridge! Had it for work lunches and lunch Weds when I wasn't well, and another portion fed to Him who didn't complain at all. It was lovely and very frugal. I just followed the pack instructions really and added a few extra bits of veg like celery and parsnip to the recommendations. Just a bit of faff. This week I am making butternut and sweet potato, and a chorizo and butterbean soup as well. Soup is goooooooood.

NannyG like you I have a list although mine has things like bread, milk, pearl barley, shower curtain, toothpaste, birthday cards, frozen peas all mixed up :rotfl:

Kat!! the bath is highly recommended ;) hope mog comes back soon, shes probably going to bring you a mousekewitz as a gift for bringing her to such a lovely place :)

Today is SFD #3. Tomorrow I am going to tweak my list, and my brain as far forward in time as I can to pre-empt any further spends. Hence the shower curtain because mine is leaking which is mashing the new bath mat & I refuse to replace that again!

9 miles walked and not an inch on any kind of transport so far. Tomorrow I am going to track my ridiculous walking through 3 supermarkets and the town centre trawling for my shopping list, on my phone :rotfl:

Off to listen to a bit of Einaudi - I Giorni to settle me down for bedtime. Tired today.

    Night peeps x

  • Morning everyone! Checking in for yesterday as I had to spend a ridiculously long day at work (7-5pm, not even any overtime in my organisation :) ) and then had a friend round for dinner (in the interests of cheap entertainment) so didn't update yesterday. Slightly spendy day - I spent 34p on lunch, with a tesco's voucher I needed to use, but otherwise spend free. Feeling much more human today after a night's sleep and today need to study and do a job application, so should be a SFD. Also want to have a proper look at the triathlete challenge, sounds very exciting!

    So glad it's Saturday.

Apologies for not checking in last night, decided as I was shattered after moving soil day before to paint landing and touch up hall. I have morphed into Mothernerd!!!

Had to spend yesterday, petrol, sawdust and got home light bulb (screw in type)gone in bathroom. So trip out to hardware store, unfortunately next to it is a Fish and Chip shop well teatime and I was hungry. Went in and they did small fish and chips £3.60. Looked like a normal portion to me.

Kat hope your kitty comes home soon, as one of my friends put on Facebook, cat came home and brought a moose. Couldn't stop laughing.

Today going to be my First Sfd of the month. Excitement of resealing bath, dog walk and may make a cake later.

    Have a great day folks

    Hi All.

NSK - hello, sounds like you are enjoying relaxing at home.

Thrifty - I love my slow cooker too, I haven't ever put ribs in it though, did you put anything in with them?

Today will be a spend day, DD is doing her second 11+ from 9am-12.30pm so after that marathon we are going to treat the kids to a Mc'Ds, it is a looong time since they had one. I think I will try and get some mudflaps for my bike today too for rainy rides.
