BB I'm so very sorry
. Echo what everyone said. There's a time to worry about the money and it's not now. But do post for any reason you want, there are lots of friendly ears. And you know, I'm sure, a horse's neck is the best, most absorbent, loveliest snuggliest place to soak up the tears. thinking of you.

So sorry to hear the news about your mum as others have said there is a time to worry about money and it's not now.
I agree with mfmaybe, horses are brilliant for comfort, the amount of times I've used mine to cry to, talk to and hug. They are the best listeners and a quiet corner of a stable with a brew wrapped in a newmarket rug (that has never actually been on a horse!!) as a horse munches next to you is incredibly soothing.

Good morning world, sorry for being absent, assume everyone can understand why.
Thank you everyone for your messages they are much appreciated.
So I was going to start a new diary, have spent last week or so, amongst other things like funeral arrangements and sorting care for dad, having a review of my finances, done things like cancelled overdraft, taken on wee bit more debt but better in the long run.
Also boss has been excellent and agreed to pay me the 9 days I have taken recently whilst mum was ill as compassionate leave, so least not losing any money.
So I was all positive and ready for a fresh start until last nightSo bought my horse in from the field and she has cut her leg, just below her hock on rear on near side. Only a few inches long but looked quite deep, so vet came down and am lucky it was just skin broken and not down to tendons or bone. But she did need 5 stitches and a load of antibiotics. Vet back again friday for check up and change dressing. Then will need to come down in week or so time to take out stitches. So thinking at least £1k vet bill for all the call outs. Just brilliant timing horse! She also needs to stay in for week or so, so extra bedding and hay but hopefully she will be ok and chill out.
So need to give it a few days, go away, get positive again and try again!Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

Nope unfortunately not insuredNo idea on cost just guessing at the moment.
Last night was out of hours call out fee so at least £90, his time on top of that, was there 1hr and half, 2 sedation injections, 1 local anesthetic injection, 1 antibiotic injection, 1 box of anitibiotics for week, 5 stitches, about 3 vet wrap bandages plus dressing and padding for underneath!
Then call out tomorrow to change dressing and check up and then a further call out if healed ok in few days to take stitches out!
So wont be cheap, darn hossie!

Hopefully it won't be as much as that, I'm only looking at £500 for a call out, lameness examination, bute, then a hospital visit scan, xray, sedation and steroid injection so hopefully it won't be as bad as you think.DFD September 2017
