    Good morning :)

So all change in my world, again, just for a change

So tenant has changed his plans and although happy to pay a deposit doesnt want to move in till 1 October so wouldnt start paying rent till then  So told him I am going to advertise, if still free come 1 October will re-consider but hopefully wont come to that.

Also had conversation with ex yesterday, had to chase up re paying his half of the joint life insurance policy and know his plans now.

    So new plans:-

Ex ideally wants a lump sum out of me, he needs to pay of his £16K of credit card debt, all is interest bearing apparently. He is happy to keep his name on the mortgage for now but obviously this will change if they need to move, unlikely at the moment but its always at the back of my mind. No figures definitely agreed between us so just wait and see.

So am not in a huge hurry and stress like I was a few weeks ago, my original goals set out in September 2014 are still needed and these are going to be what I am going to work to.

I like living on my own and dont want to rent a room out but at the moment I dont see I have a choice so today I have advertised it on spare room website, need to finish the decorating and put the furniture back which I will do in the next few evenings and then add the photo onto the website. Will have a look round at other places to see where I can also advertise it. So fingers crossed that will be let soon. My parents plan is still the same and they will start overpaying the mortgage as this will bring it down to a more reasonable figure for me to take on myself a lot quicker.

So my financial plan is as follows:-
    a) Clear the sofa (should be paid of in 3 months)
    b) Clear the Bcard before February 2016 as this is when 0% period expires.
    c) Save like anything to decrease the mortgage and buy ex out.

The Bcard is currently £4540. I am going to carry on as I am at the moment and put everything into my ISA for now as will earn me some interest.

Savings currently stand at £42 in holiday fund, £21 in horse fund and £150 in insurance fund. The insurance fund money is already allocated as my share of the life insurance premium. The holiday and horse fund can go towards my Bcard. My other savings are in my ISA/Emergency fund. I have hit my initial target of £500 but this will probably all end up paying the Bcard, but at least its there in case of an emergency for now.

So still a long way to go financially but I will get there, am stubborn and do not let things beat me.

So boring moneywise, food shop last night, bill was £101  but this included loads of store cupboard staples, lots of loo roll, 2 months worth of breakfast porridge and razor blades, the blades were £14 on there own . So luckily had £5 nectar points plus some gift vouchers from survey sites so money actually paid out was £71, much better figure :) My budget is £100 a month for food so leaves me just under £30 for the rest of the month, this should be plenty for fresh bits.

Have updated my signature so all financial goals are all correct and up to date :)

Eek, so 2 enquiries on the room already :)

One just wants a short term let for a couple of months, replied said prefer full time but happy to consider offers. Waiting on reply to see if he wants to view.

Another one a phone call from a prospective tenant, could be confusing, same name as me. She is going to come round tonight for a viewing. Advised her havent finished painting yet but will be done in next few days.

Watch this space as they say :D

Whilst writing a small rant to come. So speaking to ex yesterday he was moaning about his level of debt, sorry its your own fault you keep spending money like water blah blah, know he needs the money from the house but I am still storing all his stuff for free so we have a trade off. My loft is jam packed with his carp, surprised its still standing ;) So saw that his wife has put that they have booked their honeymoon finally, so asked about that, he said they are going in October, off to Sri Lanka for a week, total £1500, £700 each, assume excludes spending money, this seems cheap to me, but even if its the right price thats £1500 that they could pay to debt if it bothers them that much.

I really would like a holiday, it was my original goal to do that this year but all plans have been put on hold, bah it annoys me, and breathe!

    It's good to vent!

I agree on your point regarding the honeymoon - some people just slide into the traditional thing of going on an expensive honeymoon.

He wants the money from the house and you're not in a position to give it to him right now, so why does he keep on asking? Can you tell him that your plan is to buy him out at X date? If that's no good, what does he propose?

Sure, it is probably going beyond what you need to do, but I was trying to think what I would do. If my wife wanted her money out of the property, I'd probably ask a mortgage advisor what I can do and what options I have?
    Business borrow WAS £12,000 Now £10,200 | House deposit WAS £20,000 Now £10,943.33 + £15,368.55 of Interest at 5%
    Purchase CC 0% WAS £180 Now £145 | Balance Transfer CC 0% WAS £1,153.48 Now £1,788.84
Total debt WAS £58,269.15 Now £41,949.72

    2bak860 thanks for your reply.

I have given ex option either I could give him small lump sum but it would take me longer to take name of mortgage or could give him x amount each month and it would be quicker (as I wouldnt need to get into debt as much). He doesnt really think about the bigger picture and just wants the money. I can see if I give him money then yes he may clear his cards, but knowing his history will soon build them back up again, least its not my problem anymore.

Also as I said he has sooo much stuff stored in my house, most of which he will never use but has to keep buying (hence his debt!) so its a definite trade off, if he had to take his stuff out (will do when can buy out) he would be paying £2/300 a month in storage costs!

Re your comment about a mortgage advisor I have considered that, but looking around briefly, no one will give me a £145K mortgage on a £24K salary!! So unfortunately that option is not worth going there, hence parents overpaying as that will bring mortgage down quicker for me to take on earlier. Its all a work in progress, will get there one day.

On another note now have 2 people coming to view my room, one tonight, one tomorrow lunchtime and another possible at the weekend :)

    Good afternoon :)

So room finally decorated, had a couple of people round to view, one was a very snotty woman, sent me a text after saying she wouldnt take the room, dont worry dear wasnt going to offer it to you anyhow :p Have checked out one guy and he is all good, he is very young, just 22, he came with his dad to look round. He has just graduated from university and starting a job round here in a few weeks. Have agreed to let to him. He has signed my agreement and already paid his deposit and first months rent :)

So deposit money stashed away in a separate savings account, wont be touched but it can earn me some interest :) Rest of the money kept in bills a/c ready for bills next month. Means am self sufficient now and parents dont need to subsidise me anymore :j

Still a looooooooong way to go to achieve all my goals but looking a wee bit positive :D

Now that is sorted need to crack back on with other money making ventures, havent done any ebay for a while, also have neglected surveys last few weeks, bar one, so need to make some time for those. Am only 30p of payout on onepoll, hope to make that by the end of the day, keeping everything crossed.

Now mum and I have got the hang of this painting malarkey need to get going and do the rest of the house, have all rooms to do, bar mine which just needs tidying up and the rental room. Also need to crack on and try and get rid of the rubbish that needs to go to the tip, should be able to do at least 1 or 2 car runs, will make some time for that shortly :)

New positive head on, its sunny and things are looking ok at the moment :D

Great news, I don't think any one really wants to let a stranger into their house but it doesn't have to be forever, just until you get sorted.

I quite often remind myself of that it helps keep the positivity! He sounds much better than the first one!!

    Good afternoon :)

Counting down the minutes till 5pm, not long now :)

Expenses put in so that should be £131 due to me shortly. Got to go down to Southampton again on monday, yawn, but thats another £63 to claim at the end of next month so cant moan tooo much ;)

Finally cashed out on onepoll, probably another month to wait for that but another £40 due to be added to the pot.

All money although need to wait a while for it to land will all contribute to the big picture :)

Bad and good news, need to give the laptop back to work on monday that I have borrowed meaning I have nothing at home to use bar a weeny smart phone, not going to help much. Ideally need a laptop but dont have any money for it, unless I break into the emergency savings, but speaking to a friend at the yard last night she may have an old one I can have, will need clearing as used for a child so child settings etc and probably only good for surfing the net but its only really for ebay etc so hopefully that will be ok. If it doesnt work will have to go and get myself a new one, watch this space.

I do need to spend £60 odd though, tried to do today but site kept crashing, I need a new oven door handle, its been broken for aaaaaaages and I have made do, but now new lodger coming really need to replace, cant put on the dodgy opening of the oven that I do at the moment on him too. Will try next week and see what I can sort.
