Bah not a NSD, garden bin waste renewal dropped in £45! Have paid and renewed as do use this service. Will mean probably only £100 overdraft reduction but at least had the money to pay for this.

Good afternoon :) Well maybe feel a bit bah at the moment, probably doesnt help that got horrible headache and feeling tired, its monday and its raining, general bahness today :(

So weekend...got hoss food and bedding £94  but should last me a long time as stacked the car to the brim.

Lodger was away sat evening/sun morning so took full advantage and decided to have a bit of tidy up the house/me time. So saturday cut the grass, relaxed with a good book, had a long soak in the bath. Sunday a friend did my hoss in the morning so took advantage of a quiet house and had a lay in. Tidied up a bit more of my house, listed some ebay items and caught up on some TV recordings.

Felt a bit bah about life and looking through wardrobe wear the same outfits on repeat and very bored of that. Have loads in my wardrobe but not much that fits, wee bit small so took myself of to M&S. So £110.50 later in M&S came home with some new underwear, 2 t-shirts and a skirt. Looking last night the skirt and some of the underwear isnt great so going to take those back, should be about £50 ish refund, will do tomorrow. Then popped to tesco next door and spent £20 on fresh food top ups and £54 on filling the car up.

All the above spend went on my credit card, total spent £185 :( So with the refund should get about £50 back so need to find £130 from somewhere.

So fuel can put it into this months budget as its pay day today and it should last me, so £76 to find.

So pay day today and managed to have £85 from my overdraft this month, so in theory the best bet is to use this overdraft money and pay of the credit card. So grand total of overdraft paid of last month £10 :( Which is carp but hey ho, new month, new mindset.

So to feel better about myself I need to lost some weight, help a bit with my self esteem, general fitness and also will be able to wear the lovely clothes I already have at home, without the need for spending on more. !!!!!! some of them still have tags on

Its just so very hard, everything feels like such hard work at the moment, trying to sort out the debt, house, weight. Sometimes its all too much and end up with days like today and just feel bah with the world and just want to sleep.

On another completely different note, I gave my ex the £5k on tuesday last week. I know its up to him totally to do with the money as he pleases but when he comes moaning to me saying he needs the money as has £14K on credit cards and paying £2-300 a month in interest, when I see from FB at the weekend that he has taken his wife out to westfield and they are at DeBeers plus Michael Kors and Pandora shopping and have the bags to prove it, and their status says "bankrupting the hubby at DeBeers", it somewhat irks me. I know/knew from past experience that he had no intention of using that £5k to pay of debt, his wife was moaning when she was at mine last week that she wanted to have an extension next year, trying to make me feel bad, but really do they have an ounce of brains between them. She said on FB to her friends that its her birthday then anniversaries and no not forgetting holiday and christmas soon so they needed gifts for this and that. Argh it just is carp.

It all makes me want to pursue my goals a lot quicker and get rid of this debt and get name of the mortgage as soon as possible.

I dont spend a lot, I probably spend £300 a month on my horse but thats it, I rarely go out, dont have fancy new clothes (once in a blue moon), dont drink, smoke, have minimal/frugal lifestyle, work hard and have a lodger to try and help my situation. Havent been abroad for 3 years, although I would love to. Its just frustrating, know it wont be a lifetime but just feels like my life is in a bit of a limbo at the moment. Probably why I went shopping to help cheer me up a bit, but that just made it worse as felt fat in most things :(

I do need to get my haircut, it needs dyeing again, bought some on sun in my tesco shop, so will sort out a hair appointment and then re-colour it, small things and min spent (hair cut should be about £25) but it will help me feel a wee bit better.

Wow that post turned out to be slightly longer than planned!! :rotfl:

How frustrating for you - I often feel myself getting annoyed with others about their lack of financial planning but then I remind myself that I cannot change them but instead I can change my reaction to them so I just have a moan to DH and move on.

In a few years you will have no debt and the mortgage will be in your name and your ex will have even more debt then he does now and he will still be moaning about money etc

You are doing really well to budget and put money aside - sometimes when we have been doing something for a long time it becomes the norm and we don't realise how well we are doing.

My brother allegedly earns a lot of money and his partner also works full time but they have nothing to show for it, all their money is spent on food, drink and drugs when really they could have brought a house and go abroad. He is obsessed with money and he embarrasses me sometimes when he talks about his friends who are loaded etc. I try to remind him that money is not everything but he still goes on about it.
My DH was annoyed that my brother earned more than us last year but when I pointed out that he does over 70 hours per week and has to get up at 4am most days and if we did the same we too would take home quite a lot of money he realised how silly he was being.

Don't even talk to me about weight , my weight fluctuates wildly, even I lose track sometimes:rotfl:. What I have found is since getting a dog and walking her loads I have managed to lose some weight - before we got her I would always say about going for a walk in the evening but too be honest never found the time. Could you up your walking/exercise a bit each day to see if this will help? Or would you be able to cut back on your food intake - although sometimes a choc bar is the only thing that will help!!!

    Good morning :)

A good sleep makes everything feel better, a bit more of a positive outlook on life.

Many thanks Eager for dropping by, very wise words. It shouldnt annoy me about the ex, but it does, but the best thing I can do is stick with my plan and get rid of the connection with him asap then it wont matter any more. Re my weight I do need to get out and walk more, work with the hossie more, take out her out for walks etc, just need to organise myself, slowly slowly but will get there.

Got the bits ready for return to M&S later, should be £57 so will only owe £127 of Sains CC, will pay that of in next few days, if I use my O/D and stick to my budget wont need to use this months "fuel" budget, have £1663, budget is £1525, take away the £127 for Sains CC leaves me £11 but all pots ready for this month, extremely tight but can do it, actually will go and pay of now.

Ebay looking good, 3 items have bids and should net me a few pennies, redeemed another few vouchers recently which can go towards grocery shopping, just waiting for everything to land :)

    Good morning :)

Refund back from M&S so Sains CC back to 0. Few more bids on ebay items so a few pounds due next week. Spent £7 on few top up groceries yesterday and got the money for horse trainer and farrier out. Horse trainer tonight, had £5 of change in purse so £5 saving already :)

Credit report landed today, mortgage stands at £145,681, small decrease but doesnt take account into the overpayments yet as always a month behind so be interesting to see next months figure.

Everything going in the right direction but savings have stalled as no extras have come in yet, working on various things but all take time. Hate this time of the month, no payments going out, everything just sits still. Need to crack on with the money saving ideas again.

    Good morning :)

Bank holiday weekend was ok, friend came up and we went into London on Saturday, walked around and caught up with some of the sites, doing the tourist thing and then had some dinner, spent about £50 which is max really of my misc budget.

Sunday didnt spend a penny, had a bad day just felt bah, lots of background bits going on, including small row with friend so he went home early, just needed time out. Also a bit fed up with him being quite negative and making excuses for everything, he was moaning his coat leaked, so when I said get rid of it then you have another perfectly good coat it was but I like this one, well stop moaning that it leaks if it rains. Also picked a few things in London to do that we could do for free but he didnt want to do those, so I asked what he wanted to do and he said he didnt know, argh frustrating  Maybe I am just getting selfish in my old age but have less patience for people who just cant make a decision and faff, hate faffing. Maybe thats why I am happy to be single at the moment. I am all up for doing things that people want to do, but what about what I would like to do, but it has always seemed I have taken a back seat for some time, not always but now when things happen get very peed of and frustrated, cant pander to everyones needs all the time, what about me  Anyhow rant over :rotfl:

Sunday ended up being a lazy day due to the above, but did manage to cut my grass, pick and sort load more veg in the garden. Have had looads of strawberries, with more growing, lettuce is over now but that has been a good crop, runner beans have loads in the freezer and still more growing. Carrots and parsnips are growing well so can harvest those soon :)

Yesterday did top up food shopping, had £7.50 of nectar points so that helped. Came home and did some surveys and wrapped some ebay items sold over the weekend. In the evening went out with sister to see Kinky Boots musical in London. Sister had originally bought tickets for a friend but they dropped out last minute so apart from the travel was free. Means I am now £20 over my misc spending this month, on an already tight budget, think I can make savings elsewhere, will just keep an eye on it, if worse comes to worse can always transfer some from my ISA. It was a fantastic evening, definitely worth seeing :D

So financial news, managed to achieve 16 NSD in August, not bad :) Few ebay sales over the weekend means emergency fund now up to £688, first payment to ex means a start in paying parents back to, all going in the right direction. Expenses put in today so that will be another £100 when it lands :)

    Good afternoon :)

So checking my banking my lodger has paid, he pays month in advance, due to when he paid last month and they way my bank a/c works have worked out am a month "up", e.g. I have an extra £350 in my a/c I dont need. Bills account is covered and when next due for money in, at the end of the month will get another payment for lodger :)

So I have £350 spare :D So I have put this into my ISA which means my £1k is now complete :j:j:j

I am going to continue to save in there to pay my barclaycard off as can earn some interest in there and then pay of a lump sum before the 0% deal ends in February next year. I need to save £4438, although this will decrease as still paying minimum payments each month which brings the total down. So if I ignore the £1k then my start balance is £38.85 so a long way to go but a good start.

If my lodger moves out and I am short for money before I can get another lodger at least I now have the emergency fund to fall back on which will cover me for a few months :) Off to update my signature :D

  • All looking good with the finances and not long until the sofa is paid off, frustrating over issues with ex I hope you have a written log of how much you have given him so there are no future problems should he see that he can't continue his spendy ways.

Sorry your day with friend ended as it did, I'm sure you'll resolve it but it is annoying when people can't decide what to do!

Well done bb, keep it going.

    Good morning :)

Thanks Chrysalis for dropping by, yep got a written log of agreements with ex, we have both signed and witnessed so should be ok :)

Interest has been paid on savings accounts, 23p up on ISA so money to repay Bcard total is now £39.08, all small but helps towards the big cause.

Have a few other savings a/cs with few pennies in:-

Horse savings at £21.09 - need approx £140 before May 2016
Insurance savings £2.17 - not sure of figure needed yet prob around £1100
Rental deposit 13p - interest earned on lodgers deposit (for me to keep)

Accounts for holiday, fun, house savings are all empty but one day will have some pennies in them :)

Half day at work today, got hoss trainer this afternoon, she is going to borrow a horse from yard owner and we will try and hack out together, fingers and hooves crossed :D
