    Well done on the savings!

How does the cash for clothes work? I have some suits that I've bagged up, a little past their best so not really fleabay-able, but would still do a turn. What do CfC do with the items, do you know? And do I have to use special bags to drop them off? It's paid by weight I think, yes?

Hello, this is the company I use, is great one of their depots is only 5 min drive from my work, only 40p a kilo so not great, but would only go in the bin so helps. No special bags for me, just turn up and if suitable weigh and walk away with some cash :) This company seem to cover the southeast but am sure quick google would hopefully bring up somwhere in your area http://www.anglo-recycling.co.uk/index.php/cash-for-clothes

Ah right looks similar, thanks. I'm in Scotland but the info seems about the same, but my local website doesn't say anything about logistics. Handily it is literally the closest thing to me possible, it's nearer than our "corner" shop - ie only about a mile away ;)

Will double check the stuff that's in there then maybe give them a try. As you say, it's stuff that's just cluttering up the house anyway.

MfMaybe hope you manage to make some pennies :)

£6.80 for me today. May possibly go over hoss food budget at the weekend, hopefully not but if so these pennies should make up shortfall. Have put to one side just in case.

    Good morning :)

So friends hossie has gone lame :( So vet down today but think its a foot abscess will need poulticing. They live out so need to waterproof his foot everyday. Friend is down today, am meeting her there tomorrow to work out whats what but it looks like am now doing everyday for 2 weeks. Its a bit of a pain 20 min drive from home so not simple. Apart from weekends which are fine will probably end up doing them in lunch hour, not ideal but too dark in the evening, plus having to do my own hoss too. Will just see tomorrow and then see what happens. Pain having to sort his feet out everyday, it will probably rain or snow, fab. So 2 weeks in the mud fighting with vet wrap and duct tape, sigh. But the only good thing is she will pay me, she did mention £500, eek, but wait and see as that is a massive amount! Watch this space, as long as my extra fuel is covered then thats fine. If I do end up with that money am going to complete my savings target, cover the extra fuel spend and then put the rest towards the holiday fund. Know some should probably go towards the debt but I see am going to be knackering myself out for 2 weeks so will need a rest lol! :)

That would be amazing - but don't forget you will really be earning it! That's a lot of time and effort for you to put in and not something she should expect you to for free (not that it sounds like she does!). Hope the lameness is indeed "just" an abscess and nothing more sinister.

    Good afternoon :)

Been down to friends hossie, the vet has been down and dug out abscess and is now packed with iodine solution so least no poutlicing. It in theory needs changing everyday, so cut of tape, soak iodine cotton wool re-lug duct tape foot back up. He did not want to co-operate even with sedatives, so ended up twitching him but now have a yellow hand. Anyone know how to get iodine of your hands, its not a good look - see here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153598610016982&set=a.10151293723991982.562134.838466981&type=1&theater&notif_t=like :rotfl:

Waiting on call back from vet for his advice, he may have to come down again, we just wait and see. If ok to leave and change every few days should be ok somehow, but just do everyday and give dinner and painkillers.

Friend has given me £250, she was going to give me double but the vets bills are stupid for her. It more than covers my fuel and loads extra so still pleased with this. Will put straight to savings pot.

With whats in there plus the £250 only need to find £76 to complete my target.

Had my car insurance renewal is £282, was £264 last year, had budgeted £260 in insurance pot. Had a quick shop around can get a policy for £239 with hopefully £40 cashback. So already saving £30 in insurance fund, so counting the saving and hopefully the cashback thats the goal for the savings target complete :)

Still waiting from some survey money, will get a few ebay sales from this weekend so that can start going to the holiday and debt fund :D

    Good morning :)

So went to get hoss feed on saturday forgot my purse, lucky mum was with me paid £48, she took out of cash of £250 given to me, cashier keyed in wrong amount there error, didnt notice till got home but ended up £6 better of as they missed some hay out (plain to see on trolley) so wee bit of bonus there.

Paid in the £200 cash friend has given me, mum kept the £50 and transferred straight to savings target.

Did friends hoss on sunday - tried to change his foot - 3 people, 2 and half hours, double dose of sedative and one stroppy hoss, did it but sure managed to get more dirt then anything else, he was just being a bully and swinging round, very dangerous really

So yesterday vet called and said had a lot of trouble so he came down so an impromtu day of work. Managed to sort out his foot but had to be sedated, had trouble just getting injection into neck  Going to leave till thursday and try again, got a stronger sedative from the vet but have to give like a wormer and dont think he will take it, if not another vet visit on friday. More bills for owner but nothing I can do, I have tried my hardest. Definitely earning my money

Few successful ebay sales netted me £13 profit, and finally £50 from yougov has landed so been added to savings target. It now stands at £515 - just £61 short of target. Going to say target met now as complete with the saving in car insurance and hopefully cashback too :j Not bad for only 3 feb :j

So now all extra money going to go half to debt and half to holiday fund :D My first amount will be march as the saving of the council tax and water for that month - was needed for savings target but not now :) I have also earned 17p from interest this month :) Will get a few more pennies in interest as some payments not due out till june and august.

I still have my £75 budgeted for hoss food as used friends money to buy food - I am not going to put to debt, I will probably get another load of food and get infront of myself so to speak so saving long term. I will need more hay as its snowed today so a bit extra needed. Will still be in my budget for the month and I still have achieved my first target of 2015 :D

Sofa payment out today so that now stands at £240.

So pleased everything is going in the right direction :)
