Sounds a good class you are teaching Deleted_User Dresden plates are lovely. Glad your play mats were appreciated, makes you feel good when people respect your work. Good luck with your nine patch.
    Happy Quilting all :)

I had another hour on my own quilt a couple of nights ago. I thought I was just about there but once I've laid it out and arranged the last couple of rounds of blocks I am a few missing and I really don't like some that I've done so have decided to do it right and make some more blocks. My own worst enemy sometimes!

My neighbour asked about the first one I'd done but as that is now with its owner I had to resort to photographs. Isn't it strange how just after we do them we can see all the faults and don't think much of them ... a few months/years down the line and they don't look too shabby! Quite proud in fact. That may be what's spurred me on to do some more on mine.

    Take care all!

Patches41048 quilters are their own worst enemies always pointing out the mistakes in their own work. Most people don't see it but we are so used to trying to be perfect. Hope you get your blocks finished soon, I have not done any sewing for a while now so must get back to it.
    Happy Quilting all :)

  • Bumping this up. I do not know if any of you quilting ladies have relatives who are into golf? I have just listed some golfing fabric I unearthed on a page on my blog. If you are interested send me a PM and I will send you the addy of the blog.

No quilting done this week, more clearing out of fabric and cutting it up. Things are hopefully moving with regard to other accomadation, keep you eye on the money saving page. All will be revealed!!!!

Bumping the thread. Thanks Deleted_User for the earlier bump. Have been to my monthly quilting club today, only took some hexagons to do as I haven't got anything ready to machine. Had a fantastic surprise last week as I had entered a competition and won. I won 25 fat quarters of a spotty fabric called flurry. Very pleased with that. I saw on the OS daily thread that you are moving Deleted_User. So pleased for you and DH. Looked at it on your blog, looks a very nice bungalow. Hope you will enjoy that garden . Good luck with the move . Hope everyone is busy.

  • Thanks Miffy for the good wishes. We have been so lucky to get that bungalow, all we have to do now, is see it officially and accept it and then decide where all the furniture is going and where i am going to be able to sew!!

Spent a mint today on plants.......

I hope it all goes smoothly! I would be right there with the plants! You can't beat taking some with you but every new garden deserves at least one new plant! or two! or ..... :)

I'm getting a bit excited!! we may be starting a quilting group locally, despite me saying I don't have the time it looks like it will be going ahead anyway with me in tow. I do hope the new members forgive the lack of skill and bring in some with them! :)
  • Any one interested in Golfing fabric? I have posted some on my blog, I need to shed some fabric ahead of our upcoming move.

Quilt group tomorrow, wonder how they will have got on with their pinwheels!! Could be interesting.:D

Oh patches that is so good to hear, we started an informal quilting group and meet once a month in our village hall. Luckily 2 of our members are quilters of 20 years + experience but I'm sure you will all share your experience and skills. Sorrycsarina not into golfing fabric but I'm sure you will have some takers. Hope you are having "fun" going through all your fabric ready for the move. Determined to do some tidying today so I can quilt tomorrow.

  • Quilting group went well on Thursday some of the girls had actually cut out and sewn the churn dash block. I need to have a word with them though, they are trying to go too fast and it shows. One lady had sewn her block with black thread, another had 3 goes at getting a seam right and had not picked out the mistakes.

At the end of the session one lady asked if they could have an extra half an hour on the lesson, so I enquired and from the July meeting the group will meet at 1.30pm.

I sent them home with the templates for a dresden plate to be hand sewn.
