Thought I'd better bump us up before we disappear in the old pages. Actually did some patchwork at the weekend. I made a tulip by foundation piecing and made it into a little bag for my friend's birthday. I put some of those little clips in it to hold the binding on while you're slip stitching it into place. Hope everyone had a chocolatey Easter .
Happy Quilting all.:

The bag is lovely miffy.
I am still plugging away on all fronts. Another session of pressing at the weekend means I can get on with construction of the front of the pink quilt. It is looking like I have a severe lack of fabric, so I think the design (such as it ever was) may be somewhat different to what I imagined. Still, that doesn't bother me. I quite like changing my mind.
Hope everyone is enjoying themselves.0 -
I am presently working on an old play mat, not sure where it came from, its not one of mine. Had to do some serious tidying up on it to square it up.
I decided to put the binding on by machine, really do not like it, so will not be trying it again, much prefer to hand stitch down to the back.
Once its finished I will photograph it.0 -
Looking forward to seeing your pink quiltaleceiffel that is the good thing about quilting you can add bits to make the size you want.
Deleted_User I'm with you on that one much prefer to hand stitch the binding on the back.

I'm another one who can't get on with machine stitching the binding. I like Redpepperquilts blog and she uses a machine stitched binding but she finishes a quilt a week, at the rate I work I don't have many to hand stitch.
I am quilting a lot at the moment. I've got two largish ones pieced and sandwiched and am in the middle of quilting one of them. I am also piecing a storm at sea quilt. It's quite complicated and I decided to foundation piece it (3 sections to a block) but then found out one of the pieces was drafted wrongly and missing 4 pieces so I am doing that bit normally.0 -
Thought I'd bump us as we are disappearing again. Snoozer sounds as if you have been very busy. One of my friends did a Storm at Sea, it is so effective when it is finished. Hope you can publish some pictures when you are done. Off to Stitch club tonight so I am taking some hand sewing hexagons that I've been doing for ages.

Bumping up again.
Sorry I have not been around. Our holiday has had to be cancelled as OH ended up in hospital, he came home yesterday, so I have my nurses uniform again.
I unpicked the binding and re-attached the bits I have pinned it down, will be having a go at sewing it down may be tomorrow.0 -
Bumping us again. Sorry to hear about your husbandDeleted_User hope he is on the mend and not driving you too mad. Hope you managed to finish your binding. Went to my monthly quilting group yesterday and helped my friend run a workshop. We made a quilter's wallet to carry tools etc: It was fiddly but most enjoyed making it. Follow the link below to see mine.

The finished play mat. I have another one on the go now. The blue fabric in the borders is whats left from a coat I made for my grand daughter in 1997. She has just had her first baby a little girl.0
