Welcome to the threadLilacLillie looking forward to seeing your quilt. rosyq your quilt is gorgeous, such beautiful colours.
Shame you won't have so much time to sew snoozer and hope the part time working is not too bad. Still putting my blocks together. Was very good at the Quilt Show didn't spend much. There were some beautiful quilts there which was very inspiring. Such a shame you can't buy time to do the making!!!

So frustrated, nearly threw my blocks across the room! One block I unpicked three times, I just couldn't get it straight. Eventually managed it and then decided to have lunch. I now have to sew the rows of blocks together so need to cut some more sashing. Hope you are all getting some sewing time today.

I've just finished a quilt but mine are hand sewn and look puffy (luckily I quite like the look of puffy), not professional looking.
I'll post a pic when I take one.

It is indeed machine quilted but I also used quite thin pure cotton batting with it being a gift and for a little one. The back has an extra layer to cover up where I had quilted around the animals as I thought it looked untidy. I'm much happier with it like that.
My first couple were more puffy, they looked more like quilts to me but didn't like going through the sewing machine very much.
I got nothing done in the sewing room this weekend. I wanted to sort some more blocks for my own quilt but started catching up on stuff in the kitchen. I have no idea where Sat went but we now have a beer kit bottled, one demijohn of wine bottled and another cleared, if it stays that way it too with be done one day this week. The kitchen then got cleaned properly as we could see it the surfaces and the floor cleaned ... hmmmm if you include shopping and a bit of baking in there I can see where the weekend went!
Most of yesterday was spent with a friend helping them prune one of their apple trees. Very satisfying but I have no idea where the day went!
I hope your quilt behaves itself better Miffy!
Have a lovely day all0 -
I have been there many times Miffy!
This weekend I continued to add borders to some blocks I cut too small. This, of course, lead to more pressing, so I can get on with the other sides today. That's about it, slow but steady progress.0 -
Front panel of my Frozen quilt finished! Now it just needs binding and quilting.
Patches, your quilt is lovelySuch a nice gender-neutral baby pattern

Thanksit's for my friend's 3 year old daughter. I usually buy her animal-themed cushions for her birthdays with a matching soft toy (the first was a giraffe travel pillow with a zebra toy, the last was Piglet) and she uses them as her pillows so I thought I would be different this year.
Her 5 year old brother is getting an angry birds Star Wars quilt in the same style. He asked me for something 'made from pillowcases' because I made his sister this pillowcase dress:“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. The only thing I have done today is an experimental chicken pincushion.
I have a heavy weekend coming up, the single bed in my sewing room is on its way out the door and I having been trying to decide how to organise it. We have a large wardrobe in there which is going to be moved so the room thermostat is not quite so hemmed in, it will be moved fruther along the wall and a bookcase with open shelves put in so the thermostat has better air circulation round it.
If I remember I will post some before and after pictures.0 -
