yeh u've gota take the aol talk package but i hear its very good compared to BT, i can c many ppl saying they dont want to move...just do it and stop being boring! if the worst comes to the worst change back in 24 months! it'll work out cheaper with aol tho but looks of call costs!

Our BT phone bill used to be £120+ a quarter we now pay BT £31 a quarter and about £8 total to AOL Talk a month so we save about £20 a month on AOL.
We also signed up the MIL and she saves even more a month including weekly calls to Australia.

Hi there, sorry to sound like a complete numpty but does the 40GB allowance that AOL gives you with this deal be used up by surfing the web, or is it from actually downloading music etc?

We are currently on AOL, but out of contract and qualify for the deal at £19.99, however we tend to leave the internet running all day on the computer to use it as and when we need it and I was wondering if we take out this deal will we not be able to do that as we'll be using up our "allowance"?

hi antiville, the limit does include surfing however 40gb is a hell of a lot and i'm sure if u leave it running it doesnt actaully use any of the allowance. i hear aol's 18month contracts now have alimit of 10gb which aint alot but 40gb allowance aint nothing to worry about. liam

im deffo thinkin of takin out talktalk etc with aol now, ive been with them for years and hardly had any probs.
i was wondering if they would let me have the ne wlaptop and talktalk when i move which should be in 6 weeks or would i have to sign up now? it just seem pointless sortin it all now.. cancellin bt etc then havin to change things when i move?

I would imagine that if you leave the internet on a page where the page is always refreshing, or say with videa streaming continuously then it would use some of your allowance, but if it was a static page then I wouldnt have thought it would use any

any ideas on how you can check what you use on a daily basis when you have a MAC

Hi just to let you know I asked the man at CPW and no you don't have to sign up to talk talk that is entirely optional I didn't want to get talk talk as the phone line is mums and I just pay for the broadband bit of it.

ANY data transferred via the connection will count towards your allowance, no mater how small it is. That said i would be very surprised if you could hit much more than 1gb of the 40gb available by browsing or email. roughly speaking it would equate to around 55 full length feature films or 10,000 MP3s ..... so you've got to be doing some serious downloading to hit the 40gb limit ....
