gawd, what a potch! Went to CPW, they told me that they are not able to print out the contracts for current customers/or customers who have paid up to the end of thier contracts.
ANyhoo, got there in the end, but he will post out the contract to me tonight, he has been told it will be fixed by then.
Gave a load of spiel about upgrading the pc, I said, nah, it's for the kids.
laptop will take 7-10 days after the contract is processedSig ah Sig Ahhh0 -
Available online now at http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com/aol_eligibility.php. Tried going through Quidco, doubt I'll get anything but worth a try!
Edit: Link also has details of the other laptops available. Might be worth getting the processor upgrade if it's going to be used for anything other than just web browsing.0 -
I've also been texted this offer by CPW. If I subscribe to it, does it mean that my phone line is taken over by CPW, or can I still use my BT line to make cheap override international calls. This is not actually made clear in their T&C's (if my phone line would become CPW infested).
Btw, i have had aol broadband in the past and did not have any major problems, except the junk I had to install on my pc, and the higher-than-average price.0 -
have to take the line rental from AOL/CPW,Sig ah Sig Ahhh0

From the details of the AOL phone plans "
Continue using your phone as normal and paying BT for your line rental – and keep your existing phone number. "
This means you have to add an extra £10.5 per month.
Compare with TalkTalk package it does look as good a deal.
eg. I am interested in an all calls free deal:
AOL £25 + BT £10.5 for 24 months = £852
TalkTalk £20 for 24 months = £480
A difference of £372 which would go a long way to buying a laptop (look at Dells web site and you will see that their cheapest laptop costs £379 (incl vat and delivery)
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
The laptop offered is a 1520 which through Dell starts at £599 only with a 120gb hard drive and dual core (the AOL one is 80gb and Intel Celeron). You can upgrade with AOL to a dual core still with 80gb for £149.99. And it's £14.99 delivery.
I got an email a few weeks ago saying I didnt qualify although I am an existing customer out of contract. I complained to AOL who kept referring me to CPW although the phone number given was AOL. I gave up in the end, only for an email to appear out of nowhere yesterday saying sorry, it was an error and I can have one after all"Life is like a game of cards.
