Big rumour is EE are gonna buy it.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Unlikely, unless they choose to allow people to do this, which is even more unlikely!0 -
I had a Motorola Moto G refusing to read my Sim card. I contacted Motorola and they told me I had to pay shipping to send the item back to them! Therefore, I contacted the Geek Squad and told them the problem. They told me that as long as the phone is under warranty (need proof of purchase from Phones4U), they will repair the product. They instructed me to take the phone to a Carphone Warehouse shop to book it in. I was a bit skeptical but the local shop took my phone in for repair and I am now waiting for the result of the repair.Q: My phone needs repairing, can you help me?
A: Yes we can help repair your phone under the terms of your warranty. We are able to repair over 90% of all mobile phone brands, but there is a small proportion where we will need to refer you directly to the relevant manufacturer. You'll just have to grow to like it if it happens, they are entitled to transfer the contract in this eventuality without your approval.====0 -
Thye have annouced this morning that hundreds of shops are to close and jobs are going. Unlikely any significant rescue will materialise.
As I said, write off cashback and do what you can (and I have) to mitigate any loss.0 -

What would you suggest to mitigate the loss MJ? Cashback deals look like an even bigger risk than previously - I doubt many people would have predicted a big player like P4U disappearing without paying up (there are some other mobile retailers that we are all probably even more wary of now, given recent poor performance paying up!).

On hearing of the collapse of phone4u i called their customer service line 4 times. All this was during the cooling off period. I told them that i was due cash back etc and would like to return the phone due to the fear of this happening and then being left with a phone with a fairly big monthly cost, bearing in mind i already paid my old contract off with the hope that the cash back would be in by the end of the month...On the 4 times i called i was assured that phones4u were covering all cashbacks due to the contract taking out and the were legally obliged to do this, i then called on Saturday morning and they said i had to contact the administrators, to say i was raking is an understatement,,£215 i was promised and i already paid £100 of that to my old contract ...gutted0

I've got a phone on contract through P4U, still has 12 months on the contract and also has a quarterly redemption whereby they give me back £30 each quarter.
I assume this latest news now means I will be unable to get any future redemption payments fro P4U?
Is this not breach of contract if you don't get tyour redemptions and as such allow you to walk away from contract?0 -
Oh, please! NO - your cashback contract is NOT your airtime contract.0
