Morning all
Had a productive morning already. I've cleaned all the windows inside, then the front windows outside, cleaned the brass, washed down the front door and swept the front. Not cleaned the outside of the back ones as DD is fascinated by the spiders that have got webs out over them.
If its gone it's done
DIY
Gloss Paint touch up (by window, fire surround, meter cupboard, door frames)
Emulsion touch up (along edges throughout, by door where DD has rubbed it away when trying to clean some spillage up)
Radiator foil back < Going to make a new stronger one, this one has bent!
Order FF, bookcase, shelves (need to work out which bookcases & how many shelves to order)
Deep clean floor to remove paint splashes - in progress
Other:
Prepare pulled pork for tea,
Ironing
Form for school
[STRIKE]Clean windows[/STRIKE]
Monday - Kitchen
30 minutes to spare..
mop the floor
Wash out the washing machine drawer
Tuesday - In memory of our dear friend Toots who left us a year ago today
Wednesday - Living Room, Hall and downstairs loos
Thursday - Bedroom, you choose which one
Extra challenge:
Locate your winter woolies, do they need debobbling
Friday - Bathroom
Extra challenge:
Check doors for draughts and fix as required - Spotted a problem around the livingroom window but it requires me buying more sealant
Delete some emails/favourites/old documents
Check renewal dates for Driving License/passports
Going to finish my coffee while I read a thread on here I've been trying to read for over a week. Then I'll go out in the kitchen and get stuck in to the dishes etc :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Fizz... she is your sister, she loves you and is coming to see YOU.. if she is bothered by the state of your home she can help tidy or she wouldn't be coming in the first place.
Cuppa supping and I'm going upstairs to destroy my bedroom I a vain attempt at making it presentable.. it is currently hideous.. I may need before and after pics to show you what a pig I actually am .. I am doing a good job at flinging at the moment but I'm not sure it will ever be enough.
I have made a decision.. *gulp* .. I am selling my big pushchair. I shall scrub it in the next week (or boss children to do it) and get it photographed and listed asap.
DD1's scarf is looking quite pretty.. I won't get time to do any work on it until tonight due to flinging but it will be done by Christmas, I then need to order the wool for my sisters scoodie and possibly jumper too and get that/those done.. the problem is it is going to cost about £60 so I have been putting it off as I don't have the money at present. I need to make a start on my stepdads hamper.. its so hard to think what to put in other than sweets and smellies and more sweets!! .. oooh I could do coffees and biscuits..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Love the owls, Pigpen.
Fizz, I'm really sorry to hear your teenagers aren't pulling their weight. Are you still bothering to cook for them?
I'd forgotten I'd promised to run OH to the station this morning, so I'm frittering away my precious sewing hours on here waiting for him to finish whatever it is blokes do before they go on a jaunt. Piping is beginning to scare me again after my confident 'Oh, right, I could manage that!' in the shop. I've also got to pick up the 20kg sack of nyger seeds - this charm of goldfinches sure can eat.Better is good enough.0 -

Yes it was me. I love GBBO. Who do you want to win?
Flying stalled yesterday as I was tired. I did manage to make icing for the lemon cake I made, wash up the utensils and bowls. DW also put on. Bins emptied and put out for the dustmen.
Today's plan of action:
Clear my ironing basket
Hetty the whole house
Make the bed in spare room 1
Dust spare rooms 1 & 2
Pigpen forgot to say how much I loved Dot's dress.
Bossy glad to hear you're on the mend
Have a great day all

Hi, sorry not been around much at all but been busy doing stuff mainly including taking Pip our JRT to the vets as she's really not well - off her food, passed a bit of blood when she went to the toilet, been sick and is now dehydrated, poor little girl. Waiting on results of blood test.
Have sort of been Flying but having an easier day today as feeling a bit edgey and anxious.
Deco my husband loves Game of Thrones too but I find it all a bit violent don't you? GBBO is much more my cup of tea though I need to catch up a lot on the iPlayer as very behind.
Honey Bear what are you sewing? I'm hoping to do more soon but am only at a very basic level!
Fizz I know what you mean about having visitors; I always get into a right flap about it. Try to remember what Pigpen wisely said (and what I get told all the time) - she's coming to see YOU not the state of your home!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
OH dropped off, nyger seed collected, fresh pot of coffee brewed. Ahhhhhh ....
Deco, I loved Diana, and was really sad when she had to leave so as well as her, I love seeing what Chetna, Martha, Nancy or Richard do. I love Jo Brand, as well, so it's real self-indulgence this year. (Did the extra slice thing happen in previous years? I watch very little TV, so I never look at the listings any more.)
Healing vibes for Pip, Mumof2. My parents gave me a sewing machine for my 17th birthday and its still going strong having been serviced a couple of times, so I've been kidding myself I can sew for over 40 years. Actually, I failed my O Level and have always tried to do stuff that's too advanced, too quickly. After watching the Great British Sewing Bee on iplayer, and not feeling too stupid watching the mistakes other people make, I'm going to back to basic tecniques, slowing down and kind of starting again. I have plans to make a patchwork dressing gown to my own design, so I'm building up to that, hence the September Challenge to make the toile for it. Slowly, slowly at this stage. Being able to machine in a straight line would be a major achievement right now!Better is good enough.0 -
Parcel posted
Cat taken to vet for annual jab / check up, vet very pleased with him, as 'for a cat of his age, I score him 10 for his coat, 10 for eyes / eyes/ mouth' I am well chuffed, I did point out that my other cats lived to 21 and 18, therefore at his current 14 he is still a kitten!!

Mumof2 I'm sorry Pip is so poorly; healing vibes on their way for her.
I got a call this morning; I have another booking for 26th to 28th September, a border collie/fox terrier cross named Patch. Her normal host is away that weekend, and the backup she'd otherwise have gone to has now got their own dog and she can't go to a house with another dog in residence. So I'm getting her.:T
Baking ingredients all crated up and moved to the spare room, small items like ice cream maker, yogurt maker, leccy tin opener etc Tetrissedonto the top of the wardrobe, cleaning stuff loaded into a crate and moved to the spare room, basket of clean dusters and other cleaning rags moved into the shed.
islandYAM welcome; lovely to have you aboard!:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
