LW.. sometimes the newly qualified are more willing to do referrals especially if you have a complicated history. You could always throw in the old 'I spoke to Dr Whatever about a possible referral before and he said to wait and see but I have now waited and seen and I cannot live like this a minute longer if there is something that can be done I think it would improve my quality of life to try it.' ... it playing on the assumption they want to impress practice managers.. Or you could be as stroppy as me and say 'I'm not leaving until it is done, so there.' .. and sit there!
I hope she'll do it without argument; the one Mr LW saw who was newly qualified was fine about doing his, just had to ask the practise secretary how to do an open referral as opposed to the usual NHS one, but it did get done.:o I don't think I'd get away with doing "stroppy" - I'll be too busy trying not to be a shaking, gibbering wreck.:D Unfortunately I'm really really scared of doctors.

I think we're having an evening off from kitchen-packing tonight; I still feel ghastly, and we're well ahead of where I thought we'd be.

Knitty project selection vibes for you Pigpen. I've completed No. 4 from the sewing box - it's been outstanding since the day I bought the house over 21 years ago so it will be a real pleasure to put that little number in place tomorrow.

There's a relatively new sewing shop less than 100 yds away from me (just past Plym0uth G!n and the handmade chocolate shop, so I just had to pop in on the way home - only to be told OH had just left with cargo!) It's really, really helpful to be able to pop down there and pick up haberdashery stuff on a whim to get stuff done. The woman who runs it is fabby and today showed me how to do piping, which I was going to try to teach myself from Utoob tomorrow. I now have piping cord, a nasty, nasty cushion that needs recovering and OH will be away doing other things, so ... a whole day to myself, sans interruptions to get to grips with it.
    Better is good enough.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

Just trying to decide how I'll spend my day tomorrow. I could go to the shops for some groceries but will probably end up over spending, or I can book an online delivery for Saturday (then I can hide some things before DD gets home ;)) and stick to a budget....I'm thinking the latter :o I should really do my @rg0s order as well :o I need to work out how many shelves I need to order to house approximately 200 DVDs. I didn't realise we had so many despite weeding some we haven't watched in ages out :o

Well I'm going to take this weeks list and see what's left on it for me to do ;)

    If its gone it's done

    DIY
Gloss Paint touch up (by window, fire surround, meter cupboard, door frames)
Emulsion touch up (along edges throughout, by door where DD has rubbed it away when trying to clean some spillage up :()
    Radiator foil back
Order FF, bookcase, shelves (need to work out which bookcases & how many shelves to order)
Deep clean floor to remove paint splashes - in progress

    Other:
    Prepare pulled pork for tea,
    Ironing
    Form for school
    Clean windows

    Monday - Kitchen
    30 minutes to spare..
    mop the floor
Wash out the washing machine drawer

Tuesday - In memory of our dear friend Toots who left us a year ago today

Wednesday - Living Room, Hall and downstairs loos

Thursday - Bedroom, you choose which one
    30 minutes to spare..
    Clean a window or two
    Extra challenge:
Locate your winter woolies, do they need debobbling

    Friday - Bathroom
    Extra challenge:
Check doors for draughts and fix as required
    Delete some emails/favourites/old documents
Check renewal dates for Driving License/passports

Well there's plenty there for me to be getting on with. Going to go and put the marinade on the pork for cooking tomorrow and then head to bed. Night all
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Rubbish night's sleep again so a tad tired. Pilates class in an hour so I need to get going. Fair few non flying bits to get done today so I will be playing flying catch up on the weekend.

  • I am so fed up! My sister arrives at 3pm, the flat is a pit and all the small jobs I have asked the teenagers to do haven't been done. I am so cross and frustrated I could cry :(

I have beds to strip and remake, work to go to, Ald! to visit, DS2 to drop off and pick up and a million other things to make the place look halfway presentable by 2pm when we're boarding the train. Not a bl00dy hope. Sigh!
