  • Moneyineptitude - I am not "very confused" at all - please don't try to make out that I am stupid. Quite the opposite, I am trying to make others aware of what Sky is doing, which is what this thread and Forum is all about. And surely you understand that it is a hassle to give a month's notice and change your broadband and phone provider yet again, compared to the days of quarterly paper bills from a Gas, Electric and Phone provider? Do you understand and approve of being promised vouchers which you don't actually receive and which are no more than a hook to get you in before hiking the prices on your contract? You seem to be connected to a corporate body - could you tell us which?

As earlier in the thread it appears they are now sending the vouchers out in batches over the last few days

I am trying to make others aware of what Sky is doing
"What Sky is doing" is simply a price increase?

I fail to see how that indicates any underhandedness?

They are giving you notice of this so that you can choose to leave without penalty.
Sky are not responsible for the voucher deal, that's down to Affiliate Window (& MSE).
You seem to be connected to a corporate body - could you tell us which?
You do realise that anyone who does not get an answer supportive of their own point-of-view always accuses me of being in the pay of a bank or utility provider etc.:D

I never at any time said or even implied that you were "stupid", but even after I explained that you were not in an "annual contract", that price increases are allowed and that you could leave because of the impending increase you stated that you'll never trust Sky again! This indicates to me that you were (and still are) very confused.

You haven't been defrauded by Sky or MSE. Nowhere was it ever stated that no price increases would occur within the 12 month minimum term you agreed to.
I have not received either the £100 M & S vouchers or the £92, despite being told by affiliate window it would take up to 90 days and I signed up and paid on 5th Sept 2014.
As to your not having received your vouchers, your first sentence of your post earlier indicates that you are confused about how long 90 days is from the 5th of September:eek:
Do you understand and approve of being promised vouchers which you don't actually receive and which are no more than a hook to get you in before hiking the prices on your contract?
If you still haven't received your vouchers three months after your initial order, you might have a point. Otherwise your remarks just sound paranoid.
surely you understand that it is a hassle to give a month's notice and change your broadband and phone provider yet again, compared to the days of quarterly paper bills from a Gas, Electric and Phone provider
No one forces you to change provider at all. I also fail to see why it is in any way "hassle" to give one month's notice?

Do you really want a return to monopoly providers just because they charged quarterly?
  • Sky only enquire 10 working days to cancel broadband and phone and not 31.

    c. If you are not switching to another broadband provider but want to end this Contract or you are switching to a provider who cannot provide services on your existing line then you must give us at least 10 working days notice. Your Sky Broadband service and this Contract will end once this notice period expires.

Above taken from Sky's terms and conditions for broadband. line rental is the same.
  • i have emailed the affiliate window email address but not hear anything back - i had the £25 voucher from sky and have waited the 90 days it stated it would take until my voucher came through but nothing so far - any tips or help would be great :)
  • Sorry to hear your problem,
On another thread people said they were sending out the £92 vouchers a week ago, but I have not received mine, and no reply from an email I sent to Affiliate Windows, does seem strange to ignore customers,
will let you know via this thread if I get a reply or my vouchers,
not sure what we can do if they do not arrive.
  • From reading this thread it seems some people got their vouchers around 4/5th Nov , has anyone received any since? as I am still waiting for mine, no reply from email sent to Afiliate Windows.

I also joined Sky broadband for the Mse link offer with Affiliatewindows back in September, the offer being £100 M&S vouchers from Sky plus £92 M&S evoucher from Affilatewindows. I contacted Sky to enquire about the £100 M&S voucher when this was not forthcoming however they insist (after numerous calls) they know nothing at all about the offer let alone my own order via the link! I have sent them all the evidence, ie copy emails regarding the offer going through via the link successfully, I have also received my M&S evoucher for £92 from Affiliatewindows (which I'm pretty sure wouldn't have happened if I hadn't ordered successfully via the link!). Affiliatewindows say there is no reason why Sky shouldn't pay up. I also agree that to now cancel the order would be so inconvenient and such a hassle after changing over from my previous supplier Talktalk and suspect there may be a charge for cancelling early anyway. However I won't be recommending Sky to others and will use them for the minimum period until no cancellation charges are incurred then I will probably switch back. (Not happy about the price increase so soon after joining either). Not happy with their customer service all round!:(
  • I received my £92 last week. After researching a couple of weeks ago this deal I was convinced I wouldnt end up getting the £92 but they arrived sure enough and we have already spent them on christmas bits. My advice is Hang on in and they will arrive :)
So happy with this deal now !!!!
