I'm giving it up, it feels more complicated than actual dating. If that is you in the pic i would have probably sent you a message, you look quirky :p
Lol that is indeed me :p

I'll be honest i find online dating far easier than "normal" dating, personally its doubtful i;d meet someone through work (they are all too young) nor through social activities (again too young or i am usually drunk)....

I'd say give the free sites a go before you give up, you never know, you may meet someone :)

On eharmony you can't "check out the competition" as you can only see those people who eharmony has sent to you as a match so I'm a little surprised that you say you have. Maybe you're confusing it with another site?

But anyway here's some advice re eharmony matches:
Check out who eharmony has sent to you on a daily basis and "close" any matches you don't want to have contact from. This is quite a standard thing to do.

You can set the age range you want but if you have been very restrictive in the other things you've asked for then eharmony may send matches out of your criteria. These will be highlighted when you hover over them.

Maybe look at all your matches criteria and decide which are the important ones and adjust some down to widen the net of matches within your age range.
    As for the emails:
Are you using the structured communication options or heading straight to email.
If people have skipped straight to email maybe ask them to go through the structured communication first.

You're right, i shouldn't give up so easily just because 1 site sucks. I'll have a look at the free ones and see which suits me best :)

I'm on the subscription version of eharmony and it has a visitors tab. I had it set as friendship and relationship, which is probably why it matched my interests with the gay guy, or eharmony thought i would like to try something new :rotfl:

Its not the site for me, none of my matches suit me and i dont like it. I'm going to give a free site a try and hope that is better.
  • I've just tried to sign up to POF & i'm stumped on what to write about myself seeing as it can't be edited. What makes me unique? I don't have any hobbies or interests to talk about either. I'm obviously a lost cause. :rotfl:

That already makes you unique, please don't put like..."I like to sit in with a bottle of wine and DVD"
We know you love your children and they will always come 1st.
Looking for a soulmate? How are you going to know by just looking at a portrait pic.
answers of prefer not to say .
Some have that many hobbies and activities, I'm not sure where they fit it all in in a week , whilst managing a home and children too. :o

    I signed up to POF earlier on today. What are your relationship assessment results? Mine is;

    Interdependence
    Self-Efficacy
    Communication
    Sexuality
    Preferred Expressions of Affection

    Intimacy
    Relationship Readiness
    Conflict Resolution
    Attitudes About Love

For fun i put agree to white lies, like faking orgasm, are perfectly normal in maintaining a relationship. :rotfl:

And the describe your personality in one word, i put 'Comic nerd' it was the only choice in the list that was 2 words. That makes me greedy :p

When you're writing about yourself what you need to do is read what other other have put to describe themselves then pick the best ones and adjust it to suit yourself.
Don't copy & paste, that will come across as false, but just get a feel of something that has had time and thought put into it.
